Lavery has never scored goals at any club he'd been at. I'm not sure if he plays wide or not but if he's a central striker I'd be steering well clear.

Just wondering what kind of strikers we might be after - someone with some experience who's played at the lower levels and has the battle scars to prove it or some young hungrier chaps maybe with pace.

Yeah I remember that. I've no idea if he's a decent player or not and maybe there's mitigating factors why his goal return is so poor but going on stats alone he doesn't look worth pursuing.

God I'm quaking in me boots at some of the absolute dross in this League. 9/1 City same odds as Smallford ?? Lump on easy money ?Up by Christmas on the beach in January !. Now pass me the fixtures for 20/21 ..Accrington Away ...back to the big time !

 

Not convinced City will be up there, 18 months of decline, how many managers have failed to stop it? Rahic leaving didn’t stop the decline, a whole new squad last summer didn’t stop it. Three signings so far that hardly set the pulse racing, could be brilliant, could be hopeless, nobody knows. So much depends on getting rid of players and getting good quality and the right characters in. Get it wrong and it’s another long season.

 

Can’t argue with that and including us was more hopeful so I have something to look forward to this season

I like Bowyer but think this season might come too soon with the players we are going to have left. We need a good clearout but don’t thunk they will go.

Badly need some good strikers but they cost money. If we can score goals we can probably score our way out of the league, it’s poor

Bowyer expecting a few more deals to be done over the next week or two. Some of which he 'knows from experience'. I expect Mark Cullen will be one.

 

I'd be surprised if he is to be honest. He's not exactly the pace, power and height Bowyer intends on signing and what we lack upfront.

The actual quote from the website was "The one I have spinning at the moment I know from experience." I took the article as a whole to mean he is expecting a few new signings over the next week or two, one of which he knows from experience.

Mark Cullen is a good bet, Bowyer has already said he is keeping tabs on him.
