Yes the catering and the shop deals are close to expiring, what happens then who knows but the point was more at this time they are leased out so we get some revenue but not all.

The idea of a protest is fine, but while we still have so many people making excuses for the owners, and finding reasons to still support them itll never take off.

the budget isn't there - there's zero indication they will invest anything more - so the only hope we have of moving leagues upwards is if we have one of those one off wonder seasons where everything clicks, but that just doesn't happen very often.
our budget, if anything, is less than what it was under Lawn and Rhodes, and yet people still say There's no one ready to come in with the finance to take us forward - neither have Rahic and Rupp, so whats the difference?
we've been through 3 managers in two years since they came in - all of them in their own way - been succesful at this level, and knowing what it takes at this level, and Rahic and Rupp don't seem to have any interest in listening to anyone but themselves.
Morale among players sunk to such a level we were losing 5-0 at Blackpool, and 4-0 at home to Wimbledon - the reason for that? I'll tell you one thing - it wasn't due to McCall or Grayson - so where do we look?
all the transfer windows we've had have been a complete mess - we played 3 weeks worth of January with no fullbacks, 2 centre backs, a full half season with no one at all to back up Wyke, and our sub goalkeeper options are probably more suited to national League North football than League 1 - and the rest of our back up options consist of never-will-be's from Germany or the likes of Omari Patrick, who if we hadn't picked him up didn't have a hope of league football.
hardly a week passes where we don't see a behind the scenes staff member leave the club, some of which talk of how the club has changed, and how they don't recognise it anymore - and this isn't a good thing, whichever you try and dress it up.

all of the above and more point to the fact yes we do need the owners to go - to have any chance of even treading water where we are - but too many people are somehow still drinking German kool-aid and making increasingly bizarre excuses why they are simply wonderful and everything is rosey and I just can't see it working.

About 7 or 8 years ago.

The arrangement with DB where he paid the club to use the hoardings and then re-let them lasted for less than 2 years and only related to the pitch side hoardings. All of the other hoardings and the very lucrative stand hoardings and sponsorship were never part of that arrangement.

Dismantled a good squad, sacked a manager that was performing miracles, destroyed morale and all that was positive about the club, need I go on?

The Club shop is an absolute disgrace. They haven't had any large boys aways since November - stock forecasting a joke, not updating the website, closing early. It needs bringing back into our control.

That said the club shop isn't half as bad as the catering. Utterly abysmal quality, choice and pricing. Something else we need to take control of urgently.

Most of those that left were going anyway. They sacked a manager on a terrible run.

I think one of the shop or catering is no longer coming back "in house", either it's not viable or a deal couldnt be agreed

Take a leaf out of roger's outlook and wait to see who will be our manager will be and what players we sign before prophetising doom.

We know things aren't 'rosey' and things behind the scenes need fixing but for now I'm going to wait and see.

I just want someone to explain what they would think would happen if R&R walked away.. but no one is forthcoming.

People have been saying wait and see for two years now. 2 years on, 3 managers on and 6 league places lower, and a complete shambles of a summer and a January window later and we still have to wait and see.this is what I mean when I say a protest will never take off.

also - what I believe would happen is the consortium who made a proposal to buy the club but got refused would come back in again.

There aren't many who are more impatient than City fans. Two years is nothing when you 're talking about a club that needs restructuring from top to bottom. A lot of those who want the owners out seem to be under the illusion that we would have continued to have success under Lawn and Rhodes and the lack of it since the sale is entirely down to the new men. It was only ever a short -term mixture of luck and the right people being in the right places at the right time. I think PP would have had his head turned eventually and gone anyway, perhaps not two summers ago, but maybe the next and the same issues of no assets and income would have taken their toll.

That 's not to say I think our current owners are doing a great job, they're making mistakes, they're misguided, but they don't need an angry mob with pitch forks turning up at every home game next season, more importantly, neither do the players or the new manager. It achieves nothing but more negativity.

Cheers for that, I wasn't aware. I wasn't being disparaging about the situation by the way i5 was what we needed at the time, just highlighting the difficulties we are/were operating under.

What consortium?.. and if one exists\existed, do you know they have the investment so many are craving?.
It's ifs and buts and if R&R just up and left we could be in a worse position.

Now, if we had something tangible in regards to a consortium that said we will buy you out and give you a top budget and improved infrastructure, that would be worth listening to.

    No rumours, facts!

Your comment about City fans and being impatient is wrong. I can guarantee you every clubs supporter base is the same. We all want success, its why we follow out team. If not you are not a supporter merely an observer.

at this stage I'm not sure a top budget or improved infrastructure would matter - just been able to maintain the status quo would be an improvement on dumb and dumber.

Personally, I'll give them this year to see if they've got what it takes. If they f*** up again then you've got my backing.

Blackpool's owners stripped the club of assets; that's worse than what we have.

What EXACTLY do you feel the Leyton Orient owners did that was worse than interfering in club matters? (genuine question).
