So do I! If Butterfield is as good as people say then we should try and accommodate him. But I actually think we seem as solid as we have ever been this season with Wood playing in front of Chicksen and Ball in front of Caddis. If he plays Butterfield instead of Akpan is OB mature enough to play the holding midfield role? We would lack a bit of height in midfield though. The other question would be who to play at LB if Callum Woods is fit. I think he will stick with Chicksen (but I would say that)

I agree but that early goal for Southend killed us. I'd be tempted to give him a good 40 mins

I think the Xmas tree would accommodate the majority of this. O'B would be wasted in a holding role and its a role that Akpan is getting better in. I think Hopkin likes Akpan in that role as well as it allows the other players in the team to get forward knowing they have a mobile midfielder covering them.

For me, Wood misses out unfortunately, especially if Calum Woods is fit. The Xmas tree would allow a back four which seems to be settling down again, a midfield three of Butterfield, Akpan & O'B with Ball & Payne in behind Doyle.

    Don't be.

It's not time that Bradford City start doing the unexpected because we need WINS!

Absolutely agree. At the moment this has to be our strongest set up. For once it also allows options from the bench with Miller & Clarke.

Given where we are and the improvement in Akpan, we shouldn’t be contemplating a starting XI without him.

Think it was a bit more than that Damo. Southend knew we had one big danger who roams along all of the front line and operated a system whereby there were always 2 or even 3 defenders to deal with him. Had Clarke and Butterfield been in the team that day, they would have had to rethink that system.

I hope Butterfield aligns his obvious skills with the effort to match the others and doesn’t see this loan as getting match fit

Understand your concerns P but he is a Bradford lad, is naturally competitive and also playing for his future.

Hope so he could do a great job for us at near his best. Unfortunately so many of these type of signings in the past have disappointed

Whichever side is selected we will concede and need to score 2 to win it.

    2-1 for me.

Someone who is allegedly on £30k a week or whatever can't afford to look anything but absolute class at League One level unless he wants to start earning 10 % of that wage on a regular basis going forward.

3 1, with the obvious Evans their scorer.

Just got a good feeling about this one....

I’ll go 2-2. Can’t see us stopping them scoring a couple but were pretty strong going forward ourselves these days.
