I was in my way back to the UK the next day. Watched it in a pub in Crawley. Even all those inbred Southerners were shaking my hand at the end. Best high street kebab I’ve ever had afterwards :)

What a manager. What a result. Say what ever shite you want about Hanson. He stepped up in the big games every time.

Amazing memories, Darlington 69, Norwich 76, many others but Villa for me tops the lot.

Drove down, got into pub around 4.30 next to ground. Sang and drank all the way to kick off, totally forgotten I was driving back.
Bottom row of corner section giving it large to the Villa lot whole game who were so quiet.
I thought we rode our luck both legs against a team who were low on confidence but through sheer heart deserved to go through.
Not even the M1 shut at Derby In the snow could dampen the mood or the hangover that was already kicking in.

My favourite memory watching football. Never celebrated a goal so much in my life.

How we could do with any of Jones, Derby, McHugh, McCardle, Hanson now.

There was so many times that season when Jones would take a duff first corner and get a second pop at it.

We always commented that the first one was his sighter because we seemed to score so many from the second ball in. Two of the four in the tie were exactly that.

we were right down by that corner flag screaming at Jones when he came over to take those corners
It seemed so unlikely at half time after that 1st half, basically chalking off every 5 & 10 minutes after we scored, just about feeling like we'd seen them off when Turgott just booted it straight back to Given for their goal rather than holding it in the corner. As we left our seats a good number of the stewards were congratulating us.

Started watching City in 1976. My favourite City match attended. We reached a major cup final! Unlikley to happen again in my lifetime. A team with passion, big bollocks and not a little skill. So nothing like the current shower of sh*te.

Was there, still makes me feel a bit sick watching that first half, but the second Big Jim scored, WOW, tension relieved, sickness gone, pure euphoria!

Absolutely unbelievable, and THAT is why Parky and Hanson are going to be City legends in my book - the results during their time haven't been matched since Jewell, Beagrie and McCall.

So I’ve read all the comments reminiscing, and not sure I can articulate the emotion of this night.
It just had everything, and I can remember the lot.
Setting off late (waiting for teachers meetings to finish), contesting traffic and snow while listening to Adrian Durham slagging us off on TalkSport (I’ve since warmed to him), running the last mile to the ground to see mobs of both teams in pubs opposite each other having snowball fights. The atmosphere at the start, getting absolutely pummelled first half. Second half we just pushed ten yards up and what a difference. The first flat corner and the anticipation of the second when seemingly everyone knew what was coming.
Leaving the ground realising I’d lost my car keys. Getting dropped off back in Bradford to find my keys still in the ignition (obviously distracted when I parked up). Finding a kebab one minute before closing time and watching the recording whilst listening to TalkSport big is up (whilst drinking a bottle of Bantam Blonde that my ex had bought me for Christmas and that I’d saved for a special occasion).
Never been bettered as a City fan, and doubt it will!
