    Said he is concentrating on “other opportunities that have arisen over last few weeks”

    I was never Masons biggest fan but I think he's exactly what we need right now in terms of getting the fans back onside.

    It's been an eventful day at Rochdale; boardroom changes, new chairman/president and a new chief exec with genuine business and financial experience. This may not be a popular view but I trust their former chief exec isn't VP bound in a similar role! I do however wish him well with his own sports agency business.

    When he left I seem to remember him saying he'd like to be back one day.

    The reason why he left was obvious.

    We've not appointed a new COO? He was only working for Rochdale as a consultant (i.e. no long term contract and notice to serve)?

    .......bring him back!

    I sincerely hope he IS returning. that's a massive coincidence "opportunities that have arisen in the last few weeks".
    is that the opportunity to return to a BCAFC that isn't run by an egotistical idiot?

    Spoke to him a few days ago @borderlescott@borderlescott, he said he would love to come back. Got a invite off him to go to a little bash he’s doing tonight with some ex players. Unfortunately I can’t make it. I think @Bronco@Bronco is going so he might find out some info. Personally I think James Mason is who this club needs at the moment.

    Excellent point Dennis. Reading the Dale website the new people there are of high calibre. Additionally to answer Borderlescott, why do we need a COO when we have a CEO already in Julian?, as Eric McManus said yesterday " We're skint".
    And lastly James is still available to Rochdale as a consultant according to the statements I have read so conflict of interest potentially.
    I like James, a lot, having been a sort of mentor to him in his time at VP but as fans we do seem to have an obsession of "Bring back x", be it former managers, players or staff with no apparent regard to the fact we should look at the market place, a move I suspect JR will be doing in addition to remembering the likes of James who I know is now involved in a large scale and possibly global project.
    Just let JR and Stefan make their own decisions, I say.
