I stand by my wording. it was a widely held opinion, both by fans of us, and other's involved in football that it was a ridiculous decision. go back, read papers, watch tv shows from around that time and itll prove it.

and for you to say we wouldn't be better off now if he'd stayed is just absolute balderdash. best win ratio in 30 years, unbeaten at home in his first season, in the play offs for all but 2 weeks of his 18th month reign, 6th place when he was sacked - before he'd had chance to play games with the belated reinforcements that we'd needed for the entire month - now we're 4 points adrift of safety at the bottom and you don't think we'd be any better off? are you serious?

 

I think saying that you think Rahic should have sacked McCall in 2017 undermines your own argument, given Rahic wanted to sack McCall in 2017 because they hadn’t seen eye-to-eye on things, in other words “non-footballing reasons”.

For what it’s worth I agree with you that McCall was sacked in January for football reasons, I just don’t personally agree those football reasons were correct.

As for your criticisms that McCall set the team up wrong – again, top 6 for all but 3 games of his tenure. I wish we were that badly set up now!

But anyway it is November. McCall was sacked 10 months ago now. The fact it still haunts Rahic is massively, massively telling – but let’s not kid ourselves that the complete collapse of Bradford City is down to sacking McCall. It is one of a number of mistakes.

And yes those quotes in the paper today came from an interview with a T&A journo the other day. It won’t probably won’t please you to know that there’s more quotes from me in the T&A tomorrow (but don’t worry, they’re not about McCall ;-) )

In my view McCall was sacked because he wouldn’t tow the Rahic line. They waited until there was an opportune moment, and sacked him. They had not taken into consideration any of the points that the very accurate analysis that @Jason McKeown put forward. Like Jason and as stated by a number of other ppl on here he would have turned it around.

I am wondering why Rahic hasn’t sacked Hopkin? the results are extremely poor, and are likely to continue.

Some are saying because of Stefans recent statement they have changed !!.

 

Because he brings his own backroom staff in does not mean they have to be the ones he worked with at Livingston, I think many are suggesting Hopkin gets rid of Greg Abbott and Martin Drury and we have a clean start with regards the footballing side.

And I think more and more are falling into that category, he openly said in the Dum & Dummer interview it was his way or the highway (my terminology) we all have to have the same goal, I'll let you into a secret Edin we all did have the same goal, and if you'd have been less dogmatic that yours was the only way, we might have had another shot at the play off's last season.

 

OK @Bronco, @Bigrod and @How would be happy for him to bring fresh faces in, and have a clean slate.

So, are you saying that you know more about what happened with Hendrie than is in the public domain?

I ask because in the Bantams Banter interview with Rahic, he pretty much denied that anything had gone on, or had done at the Yeovil game at least, if my memory serves. When whatever it was routinely used as one of the defining reasons why the team failed to repeat their form prior to Xmas last season.

(Not that I expect you to 'tell all' if you've been told something in confidence. More because it's further evidence that there's been stuff happening behind the scenes that's directly impacted upon both the team's morale and performance that isn't relayed to the supporters.)

Just a shame on Tuesday night Tony Mc was on last I'm sure he would have given the official version, do we still have fans who believe a word of what Edin says now ?.

 

He may be happy with the set up who knows, really no need for Stefan to make that comment if so, were just giving an opinion why we think it should be a clean sweep, then comments with regards Abbott & Drury and the old regime can't be made.

 

Hopkins can't be happy with the set up as he stated that everybody needs to buck up their performances and this included backroom staff. His words not mine.

 

I've discovered a little trick that allows me tell if Rahic is lying or not. If his lips are moving, he's lying.
