    Article in todays T&A

‘In a Telegraph & Argus poll prompted by the decline of the club to bottom of League One after five straight defeats, 77% blamed Rupp and Rahic for the situation.

Of the 3,215 votes cast in the online poll, only 18% per cent of fans blamed the players and 3% the manager David Hopkin.

And in a survey of fans, the verdict was that the German pair had torn up the way the Bantams had been run and lost the faith of supporters’.

When you add it to our own thread about Level of Support, which closed several weeks ago, then it is a damning indictment.

Would you re elect Rahic and Rupp to run Bradford City

I think Parker and the T&A are telling it like it really is. For so long they have appeared to put a ‘positive’ spin on the situation. Objective reporting should tell the story ‘as it is’!

I now wait for R&R to explain how they are going to change. A simple promise to make more money available in January, that Hopkin can get his back room staff in (but on what financial terms) and that we can sign ‘Free Agents’ (who will not be match fit), is akin to moving the deck chairs on the Titanic!
We need to know that Rahic will fully retire from all team/player affairs, that the policy on player recruitment, will be one that is comparable to other clubs in League 1, rather than some inappropriate continental model (where it might work well).

Interesting to note that Mike Harrison thought there may be announcement before tomorrow regarding some sort of change.

Imagine the lift it would give to supporters and to the players if we knew Edin wasn't coming back.

The most damning reply in the comments...

How sad it has got to this....

    shaun from richmond11 mins ago

Looks like I am on my own tomorrow!.....The ORIGINAL "12" are now down to me!.....NEVER THOUGHT I would be last one standing (Sitting)...All 12 went Season in Season out, hardly missing a game, after Stuarts sacking that was halved, then on renewal of Season Tickets it halved again....NOW the other 2 wont set foot in the ground until RAHIC is OFFICIALLY GONE!

Rupp is to blame as well.

Mainly, to blame. He is the one with the money. He knows fully what is going on.

People keep banging on about his back room staff but has anyone apart from me actual looked into his back room staff at Livingston? Let me guess no because hey why do that.

The person a manager is most likely to want to bring in is his assistant. His assistant at Livingston wasn’t his appointment, he was forced onto him. The guy in question has no coaching badges and worst of all is a convicted a Drug Dealer (and not just a small fry either, the sting he got caught in at the time was the biggest cocaine bust in the U.K.), that since the day Livingston hired him there has been pressure for him to be removed. Even if Hopkins wanted him and he wanted to move south no English club can hire a drug dealer.

He then had two Keeper coaches. One who is totally inexperience with no badges but is English so may be more willing to move south and another who has some experience but who has spent his whole career in Scotland so may not be willing to uproot everything to move south. In any case as the keeper is one of the few performing do you really risk that by changing keeper coaches?

He had a striker coach in John Hartson but he quit befor Hopkin's did seemingly to focus on his media career, would he want to give that up?

Then they have a fitness coach who doesn’t have any badges either. At this point you are out of coaches Hopkin had at his disposal.

He obviously also had a Chief scout, maybe he could be brought in but his expertise may be north of the border which may not be ideal. Then you have the less 'opinion' based roles who get their jobs mor eon qualifications, those being the medical staff of physios, doctors and sports scientists. You would imagine Bradford’s are more qualified than Livingston's.

So who exactly is Hopkin really likely to what to bring in? It’s not like you have hired Alex Ferguson who has an extensive list of quality backroom staff he has worked with and trusts over the years after all?

So when Rahic wanted to sack McCall after reaching the playoff final would you have said that was for football reasons too?

Well, no-one could answer yes based on how the club has been run, key point being how the club has been run, not how Rahic claimed the club would be/is being run.

The aims of being self-sustaining and focusing on developing youth talent (yes, like in Germany) are laudable ones, unfortunately that is not what has happened.

Based on what has been done (not what Rahic said he would do) I am bemused that any City fan could describe themselves as a "Rahic fan boy" unless they were taking the piss, which even I can't bring myself to do in the current situation.

So, what is your position on Rahic then? You seem supportive of him and I cannot see anything from his actions that can see any City fan supporting how he's run the club.

Apologies if you have answered this elsewhere.

Good point. But he didn't did he. He thought that the reaction of the fans would be too negative. Doesn't really tie in with this 100% megalomaniac / only wants things his way does it? I hope fans aren't hanging Rahic out to dry based on this - Fergie also nearly got sacked in 1989, Bobby Charlton admitted it. Can't Rahic be credited for changing his mind as he thought it best for the fans? Or is he always 100% wrong. The Collins / fitness coach fiasco's are where I really think he's gone wrong. Not enough attention to detail - poor failing for a chief of a company

I've said before, he should have followed his gut instinct. In hindsight the continuation of McCall did nobody any good - a bit like a big falling out with anyone that's not discussed as to the reasons why, it can only lead to even more mini bust ups and then a big one and that's what happened

There were faults on both sides. McCall was unbelievable stubborn and sulky with some of his comments as shown within his WOAP article he wasn't a totally innocent victim. The same moans he had here are beginning to creep in at Scunthorpe (where he's just lost five in the bounce and conceded more than us per game average) so it wasn't that outrageous to sack him when he did

I'm not supportive of him as such - I just feel he is slated no matter what he does as follows;-

    1. Changes his mind about sacking McCall, because it wouldn't be popular with the fans. But his critics argue he doesn't care about the fans. The two don't can't possibly be true
    2. Heavily criticised for sacking McCall when he lost 7 out of 9, in an ever dwindling season. Why when others got sacked for less, i.e. Scunthorpe and Peterborough managers?
    3. Keeps out of the way, once Grayson was in as manager (apart from one notoriously daft incident when he tried to ban Stuart) but then gets accused of deserting a sinking ship. But those saying this, wanted him to stop interfering. He does it and then gets accused of not caring
    4. Likewise he's keeping out of the way now - but get's the same criticism
    5. Has made it clear (along with Rupp) that Hopkin can do what he likes as he's in charge, including bringing in risky free agents. Somehow this isn't believed
    6. Apologises for the mess he's caused, but as he hasn't listed what he apologised for - apparently it's not sincere

However, he needs to go because as illustrated above a lot of decent fans, who I respect on these boards simply will never trust him no matter what he does

And his Collins plus fitness coach farce - have been monumental in terms of incompetence. We could tell after the first defeat that Collins management skills were learnt on PS4 FIFA 2011 - it then begs the question how a person of Rahic's skill could be so taken in by him

To be fair, it did the club some good - if he'd have sacked McCall after Wembley we'd have got relegated last season, rather than this.
it was McCall's efforts in the first half of the season that kept us up last season.

Says all you need to know about our current owners in Rupp and Edin when they haven't even commented on the poll.

Look, let's stop messing about and get both of the owners out. We need both gone.

The only solution is that the owners SELL the club.

Both of them are not fit to run this football club.

    Afternoon @banbrotam@banbrotam

If you re-read the article you will find that it was Mike Harrison, not myself, who stated McCall was sacked for 'non footballing reasons'.

It's quite ironic to accuse someone of being "irresponsible" when you accuse the wrong person.

    Thanks
    Jason

Another boring "am not a happy fan" story.
