Drive from Filey to Todmorden, collect brother, drive to Wibsey, bacon sarnie courtesy of aunt, bus to town, slow walk to vp, get program, leave disappointed, bus to Wibsey, drive to Todmorden, abandon brother, drive to Filey, complain on here and to my grandad, go to bed

Option one...

10am get up after a bit of a lie in after a Friday night out, fuel up with a big breakfast
11ish text message exchange with the lads to confirm attendance at the match
1230 meet up in town for a couple of pre-match pints
1445 head to ground for a couple of hours of misery
1700 back out in town for a few pints and maybe a curry

Option two...
10am same as above
11ish same as above, but inform I'm giving the game a miss
1230 receive text from the missus of one of the lads that the cost is clear
1330-1600 head round to hers for a matchday workout, even get some lunch if I'm lucky
1700 check score on phone, head into town and meet up with the lads

Option two today.

up at 6, watch prem live, lots of coffee. If grandson here, field all sorts of nonsense questions only an 8 year old can come up with. Watch more prem live while trying to keep up with City online, fielding more questions from grandson. More coffee the more prem (we get 3 live games most saturdays here) then after all is finished, out in backyard with the lad for a kick around, a swim or, bizarrely, play cricket. He came over in June and we went up to watch Undercliffe 2nd 11 beat some team and he was hooked on Cricket. Went to Foster Square retail park and bough him a cricket set! Sadly, doesn't look like he'll be the next Sir Geoffrey.

 

Up and ready by 9am, leave the house anywhere between 9-10am usually with between 1-3 of my offspring in tow. Travel down A19, pick up mate who lives on Teeside on way down. Park at Broadway. Have a bite to eat, kids have quick look in shops. Meet Dad. Go up to VP. Watch shite and wonder why I’ve wasted another day and not done my bit to reduce my carbon footprint by burning 230 miles of diesel which has cost me £1.30 per litre. Walk back to Broadway, kids have a burger and chips, set off home M606, M62, A1 and A19. Drop mate on Teeside. Get back to my residence on the north side of Newcastle around 8-30pm. Get a beer, sit down, talk to wife, watch telly, doze off on settee go to bed at 11-30pm. Still wonder why the feck I bother
