That is to do with recruitment and nothing else. Not sure what your point is to be honest.

I didn’t go today (Plastic I know) however Thornton said Josh Wright was arguably our best player and really put in a shift, i don’t get the agenda some on here have with him, after the Collins debacle let’s give the whole squad a clean slate and get behind the whole team FFS

I’m sorry but if you are basing anything by comments made on the pulse then you cannot be taken seriously. Wright was shocking again but he wasn’t the only one. The idiots on the pulse are a complete laughing stock.

 

Our biggest problem is central midfield. The fact we ended the game with Gibson, Payne and O'Brien in there speaks volumes. Utter shite recruitment

 

If there was half an inch of truth in that then I would agree but Wright was woeful yet again. Thornton should have gone to Specsavers.

 

...and this I suppose is why I and others keep going on about the need for experienced, i.e. veteran, i.e. not cheap, cover in the squad. Yes, the Kilgallon / McArdle / Darby types. I mention defenders as they just come to mind first, especially after what just happened, but the same applies to other positions as well. We need to get the steel back into the side, like we had during our two playoff seasons.

Admittedly, all the subs today had been made before things fell apart, so my wish for vets to settle matches down or see matches out mightn't really apply. Then again, were such types around the subs might have been different.

1,800 fans did get behind them at 2 - 0. It did absolutely nothing. There's no need to berate them but sometimes you have to say it as it is. The team isn't good enough, the squad is dire. It's crumbling before us. McCall couldn't stop the rot, Grayson couldn't and a rookie like Collins had little hope. Hopkins isn't a miracle worker. All we can hope for is that somehow Hopkins gets enough out of them to survive in this league.

We may have RECRUITED all three, including O'Brien extremely recently, but actually, it's, err... it's err.... we should have signed more experienced players, of course, but that isn't RECRUITMENT, that's, err...

Injuries!

Injuries, yes, we HAD to sign young players like those for first team roles (even though Gibson is Development and O'Brien is on loan from a Premier League side) because of INJURIES.

We couldn't sign experienced players because of INJURIES.
