Next home game, protest

Could it be any worse after Saturday, not as bad as the Wycombe game but accepting they were down to 10 we made it hard for ourselves.

 

We gotta move forward now Dave. New bloke to be unveiled so fingers crossed. Put it one way, I would not want booing and protests as the gaffer is unveiled at VP.

Hope the experience of a new gaffer, allows good tactics, formation and installs confidence and discipline.

I know you and I have similar thoughts on ER but hope the football can be the epicenter of our thoughts for the short term at least.

As is likely to be shown by Hopkin agreeing to join us, the theory that a streetwise manager would be put off by Edin is total and absolute bunkum. There isn't one shred of evidence that the way the club is run put off any manager. Even the likes of Mouriniho, have to work within the strict restraints of his clubs rules.

 

True story 1000% a director at my work plays golf with a pal of Paul Heckinbottom and he told me Heckinbottom said he had an interview with Rahic and it was in his words the most bizarre situation he’s ever been in in football. Apparently a very strange interview and meeting and was told the money was insulting

After 6 weeks of interviews, an amateur who didn't even apply for the job got it because nobody else was willing to work under the conditions Rahic set out. How much more evidence do you need!?

After all the summer issues of not getting a manager/head coach in then having to promote from within I would say alot as changed since beginning of August. I know for a fact Grant McCann didn't want a interview and Grayson was handed the job but turned it down. Edin may have had to bite the bullet to save his skin he will know about fans unrest possible protest and even he wouldnt be stupid to turn a blind eye. If it turns out to be hopkin what as changed in 77 days plus for him to accept no one can say he has been offered the same sort of deal as if that's the case why didn't he take back in the summer?.

 

I wonder if it's possible that after the Fleetwood game, or possibly even the Wycombe game, Edin shit himself, looked in the mirror, and thought.

BUT - Was Hopkin offered a deal ?
It could well be that he was the best candidate, but ER felt something was missing, so placed DH's CV on file, for future reference ? That future, is now.
It wouldn't be the first time, would it ? I for one have suffered being 'an also ran' on two occasions, only to be offered the same position a few months later.
(No - I declined both, second time around ............. regrets ? Some.)

 

I think Edins face said it all, post the Fleetwood game, as the 'team' left the pitch.

 

I’m beginning to think now that Hopkin may have been put off by the idea of a “transfer committee” the first time around, but having seen the quality (on paper) we’ve brought in, he may be more open to the idea.

In terms of a protest, I don’t see what’s changed.

Those wanting to protest are wanting Rahic out and he’s still there.

So obviously the protest should go ahead.... (and the sane ones will just watch on from sidelines).

 

I think it's stupid. It's the new manager's first game at home what message does that send out to him and the players. See how it goes for a few weeks. And then if it warrants a protest so be it.
