    Regarding Grayson:
Don't get me wrong, the bloke as an outstanding track record at league one level but he wasn't even geering up the lads last night, for 90 minutes he was just stood still not ripping into the lads or even praising them. The game was horrific to watch and he wasn't bothered to help step it up a notch.
Does he really want to be here? body language and interviews say otherwise. (Personally I want him to stay but it really wouldn't bother me if he went in the summer. I'd prefer someone who his proud to be at the club and is hungry to be successul)

    Regarding players:
Thought Bruenker had his best game for us last night. Looks like they have been working on him in training, making not only the correct runs but the right ones at the right time and also guiding his headers in to another players path rather than just head and hope.

Callum Guy - A real hard working typical english midfielder. Put his body on the line at times tonight and isn't afraid to get stuck in. My MOTM

Stephen Warnock - Does he really need to retire? Outsanding again last night. going up and down that left flank and defensively was solid too.

Killa & NKP seemed more comfortable together too, confidence coming back into the players which is good to see.

    Regarding remaining games:
Players are playing for contracts at City and at other clubs, hopefuly can put a good end to the season away and rebuild in the summer. The club need to make a statement early doors after the season finishes with regarding to the managers position, season ticket updates etc.

    CTID.

Last night was like countless matches in this league every year. The secret is to come out on top. Apart from them hitting the post in the first ten minutes we never looked like losing this match.
The current results show that this team is nowhere near as bad as we were showing a few weeks a go. To think we lost 10 out of 12 and are still pretty close to the play offs shows what a wasted opportunity. Wish we had appointed Grayson sooner

I'd say I am one of the most optimistic fans(not as much as @PlatinumChaosX@PlatinumChaosX ), but hopes of a play off spot really are..

It's good that Rovers can still win title as they will beat Charlton Saturday now I recon.

Charlton need 2 points from blackburn at home, and rochdale away

Scunthorpe need three points from mk dons away, Plymouth home and us at home.

That is all still dependent on us winning all three left.. Can see us ending two points off in 7th or 8th

Not a classic last night by any means but a few weeks ago the performances were dire but there is a slight improvement and we got a win.
Doubt the pitch will be any better Saturday or the opposition.
Just need to be less wasteful when in possession,a better side than MK would have punished some very average play from City last night.

It did not look like as many as 9k there. We got told by a steward that the Shrewsbury game attendance was 8600. Portsmouth looked a little over 9k on that basis. Last night had more spaces and fewer away fans so probably only 7500-8000. It certainly was worringly sparse.

City looked slightly better first half with a goal from two attempts on target and a deflected shot just wide. MK only managed a soft header across goal that Doyle grabbed like a back-pass but there was a good spin that took out two defenders before a surprisingly wide shot, and an attack where a striker could have stepped over the ball for an advancing unmarked midfielder to leather it but the striker chose to be greedy and messed up. They lacked movement and pace when attacking and failed to press when off the ball so we got into their half fairly easily. After half time. the Dons were quicker and pressed harder, won more possession and spent more time in our half. They looked to be building to an equaliser as a few of our lads tired, but their substitutions to throw men forward left them very open to counters for the last 15 minutes and we started to threaten again and got a second. The 2-0 score flattered us. We only just about edged it.

Kai put himself about well again and I'm starting to think he deserves a goal. He looks to be getting more stamina as he loses a bit of that excess bulk he was carrying. I'm not sure he will ever be League 1 standard but he tries hard and is improving. He frees up a bit of space for Wyke and seems very aware of where to put the ball to those around him. I'm sure a few League 2 clubs would be interested if he doesn't make it in League 1 so he is likely to have a future in English football. I just hope we don't end up one of those League 2 clubs after next season. I think the current team would probably be around mid-table but next season looks likely to see a few players out and much lower playing budget without some kind of windfall.

Definitely not a classic! And in front of probably the lowest home league crowd of the season. Judging from the spaces in the Kop and Sunwin stands, fewer than at the Shrews game imo.

MKD were probably the worst away team to have visited VP this season. They created very little other than a few skirmishes and we made hard work of it a times. You're quite correct. A better team than MKD would have punished us last night. A 2-0 win is very welcome but the performance, although better than some recent ones, demonstrated to me that there is a lot to do in the summer transfer period irrespective of who is the manager.

Warnock was outstanding last night. It's a shame we won't get the chance to have him around longer, been very impressed with him since he arrived. He still looks to have the legs to run around like a man half his age
I wonder what he has got lined up after hanging his boots up next month; media work or coaching?

Surprised at some of the reserved outlooks on last night's performance. I thought we were very comfortable and can't remember Doyle being troubled other than when they hit the bar. We started poorly but the goal calmed us down and I don't think we really exited second/third gear after that.

It would have been nice to put a bit of gloss on the scoreline but we nearly did that with Bruenker's chance, Wyke's header being cleared off the line, McMahon hitting the bar. But with the fixture congestion, it was wise to do enough to keep MK Don's at arms length and win the game.

Warnock was excellent - deserved man of the match as voted for by the fans on Twitter. Kilgallon & NKP had their hand's full with Aneke but coped very well. Guy & Dieng worked well. Frustrating nights for Gilliead and Lund but Wyke led the line well. Bruenker had a few decent touches and it was good to see him get into decent positions to score. His physicality alone is enough to disrupt defenders and allow Wyke to thrive.

In theory, they're better than that.

I don't think we'll do it, but more because I don't think we'll win all three

Apart from the top 3, all the teams above us have shown all season, that they are quite capable of not winning for several matches as they'll all excelled at it!! So not winning for, say not three, is something they can easily do

Whilst I think Rochdale are underestimated, you wouldn't have thought Plymouth would take just one point from a trip to their ground and relegated Bury

Lot of pressure on Plymouth now, relative to this pressurised 'must win' scenario, it is relatively easy to go on an unexpected run like they had

But yes, it's going to be the pathetic home showings against Northampton and Wimbledon, plus our ability to lose that 3-0 lead at Walsall , which will mean we will miss out

Interesting to see that Kieran Agar, who we all wanted two seasons ago (and quite rightly) wasn't even in the starting line-up and has got just seven goals.Shows, the minefield that buying so called 'quality' players can be

He's been co-commentating on 5 Live a few times over the last few weeks. Believe he was doing the Burnley match last weekend. He was pretty good at it. I can see him going in that direction.

Indeed. I think it shows that some players just click at a club at this level. Mark Marshall another decent example of that. I thought it was interesting that Grayson mentioned the good players that MK Dons have pre-match. On paper there are some strong players in their squad - you have to wonder if manager selections have let them down.

Agreed. But you can go as recent as the late goals for Wigan & Bury which cost us three points in total. Not managing to get a winner against 10 man Shrewsbury as another. Frustrating and should see us fall short.

Agard is another good example if we had signed him it would have been another big wage with nothing to show
Reeves who I still think is a good played and McCarten both stood out for their respective teams and in McCartens case being closely monitored by plenty of clubs are the right so of players we need. With the income we receive and the fixed expenditure of the club we can not afford be saddled with huge contracts.
