    That was my first reaction.

However, it may be that Ryan recognises the growing incompatibility of trying to satisfy both Stefan's vision and and the fans 'demands'. Ryan may see that the writing is already on the wall; if the fans walk away in large enough numbers, then he will be unable to maintain any sort of financial stability and the game will be up.

City sold 15,054 Season tickets for 2023/2024. Of that number, 7,810 were adults paying the full £198. The way things are going, then City could be lucky to hit 12,000 next season.
If the 3,000+ who do not renew, paid an average of £180, and the figures remain the same for next season, then an immediate drop of £540,000 will hit the club, with other reductions in income, in merchandising etc. Ryan will have to explain to Rupp why there has been a substantial drop in support. As they say, money will talk.

Are you suggesting we might lose 3000 paying adults? If that were to happen then there could be several hundred kids tickets lost also as under 14’s aren’t allowed without an adult.
This will leave us with potentially 10000 season ticket holders accross all price points who may well be asked to pay an average increase of £50 which will cover the 500k loss you mention.
    The sustainability model continues.

The club wont know how many fans they will lose until the prices are out though. So they can’t change the price and up by a further £50 unless they do so before launching the campaign……but any price rise now will be laughed off when the CEO has just confirmed sustainability is our vision and we have dropped from 6th to 18th in the table!

realistically i think what could/should happen is

    a) club announces ST prize freeze and prays we get to FL trophy final to cash in on feelgood factor from Wembley, before launching new campaign
    b) when ST uptake is very poor, due to a collective fan boycott, Rupp wakes up, he fires Sparks realising the fans are sick of his incompetence and BS
    c) club extends discount deadline while they look to recruit a new CEO (prob Rhodes will be involved in that process), while publicly apologising to fans and admitting its not good enough. Rupp maybe even says at this point he is now actively looking to sell up (or maybe he views the new CEO appointment as one last roll of the dice)
    d) club issue an Iain Duncan Smith-style “unite or die” plea to the fans who boycotted, to renew, and save our budget (and new season) from collapsing
    e) a late surge in ST sales happens to get us closer to 10k ST holders. Lost 5k or so ST holders, and the budget is well down on 23/24 but we get by by pawning Young to cover the shortfall.

Rupp is then aware his passiveness won’t be tolerated and knows we can’t keep selling players to cover shortfalls as few others are as valuable as Young.

If Rupp fires Sparks the new CEO will probably work under the same mandate. Rupp has to sell up.

If he doesn't respond, maybe think about sending a copy to Sky Sports, Talksport and even Chris Kamara.

Hi, Dennis, Jamie Raynor is already aware, Simon Parker is ignoring everything we are doing and I suspect this is due to concerns with his standing at the club in future. In the meantime I am going to write to Stefan directly and advise him that the package is on the way to him. I am also going to ask for a meeting with him so I can try to assess what he actually knows about events on the UK. This will also allow me the opportunity to brief him on fan feeling, potential revenue decline etc.. It might not lead to anything and as might not get the response but we will ensure that our supporters know, and then we will look at strategic use of media in UK and abroad to pressure him to the table. We will also look at coordinated protest and the opportunity of outdoor advertising near the ground, banners, cards...we may engage our supporters and ask for crowdfunding opportunity which we will make the transaction costs visible to supporters so they can see how funds were utilised. Any unused funds, with supporter permissions will go to the Burns Unit. I haven't got all the plans in place but we will keep taking advice, keep being vocal and keep doing our best.

That is one form of action we have on our strategy document but timing with that has to be spot on. We suspect with other things we are looking at that current commercial partners of the club will already start to notice...we feel approaching these sponsors would be for further down the line...a more hardball and aggressive route later.

Ordinarily I would do this...however, we feel we cannot approach the club, and in particular, Ryan Sparks with this. We do not believe it would have the effect we all desire, shall we say. Thanks though. I appreciate your thoughts on this.

Have we tried Katie Whyatt and Richard Sutcliffe at The Athletic? Katie used to write at WOAP and Richard was at Yorkshire Post covering City....ignore Parker and go for his editor....

Yes, all of them. What about all our legends.....McCall for example must have sway with McCoist who is still on ITV, Goodman on Sky. Ian Dennis on BBC Radio...

The thing that bothers me about that scenario is Rhodes being involved in choosing the next CEO, which you are right, he most likely would be. Rupp needs to hire a specialist consultant to help with the process, otherwise we will end up with Sparks mk2.

I think there was a fair bit of gaslighting from Sparks on Wednesday night about the club 'vision', done purely to deflect away from his own under performance. I'm sure the first remit he got from Rupp was to keep the club in the league and avoid going bust given where we were in the league at the time, and that might have become the remit again more recently given where we are in the league right now. But since Sparks has been CEO, we've had at least a top 7 budget and a top 3 budget last year. What would be the point of that if the aim is just to be sustainable and not be relegated? Sparks has massively under delivered and he knows it. He's trying to save his own skin by massaging the truth.

Rhodes and the other old timers need to F off also. Need to be nowhere near the club.

He was so concerned about saving his own skin and protecting his CV that he basically said this club has no ambition. 16k mugs just watching a club that’s aim is just to stay in the football league.

Absolutely. But we all know it will be done on the cheap, just as Rhodes groomed Sparks on the cheap instead of paying top dollar for experience
