Our highest division 4 finish in 40 years might be technically correct but shouldn't be used as some sort of exercise for points scoring. More an indictment of our club actually being in league 2 and the fact we've never looked like being automatically promoted in those 40 years. Think of the clubs automatically promoted in those years you mention that we were actually in league 2, we should be never be mentioned as a big club while in this division because we.clearly don't have the mindset of one.

There's no new commitment to buy half decent youngsters.

We did it once with Lewis and made a profit. We then bought a 32 year old instead of doing it again.

If we had bought another youngster then I'd agree with you but yet again, the club is flip-flopping on an approach because of what a manager wants and the manager will likely be with us for less than 2 years.

Pattinson, would be potentially worth a bob or two when he's 27/28 as he scores goals from midfield. But he's always injured so unlikely. And let's remember he was a Plan B signing!!

Yes. I'm been disingenuous. It just tells you what a disastrous time we've had down here since our first relegation back in 2007.

However, I was just giving that 'success' reference for my signing point.

Not certain it has to be every player. I would however expect three or four, under 22's per season and we only got one this time.

I suspect it's a bit of a policy - but if we got Parky back would be abandoned!!!

Some of the signings make no sense. McDonald was the most weird, given our other CMs have been criticised for their lack of mobility.

Oliver was also perplexing. Big unit that needs crosses into the box, yet we don’t play with wingers.

Derbyshire was a funny one too, given his length of contract at his age.

That said, not one sporting director in the world has 100% success with recruitment. Even Man Utd signed some gash when Fergie was there. At L2 level you are fishing in the cess pit or taking chances on kids from higher levels.

I think some of the criticism of Gent is OTT when we are close to cashing in (probably) half a million this month.

managerial failure cost us last year IMO, that’s all. The budget was good enough. The squad was good enough. Sadly the manager’s negative mindset wasn’t.

The sustainability talk worries folk. If Alexander gets the backing Hughes has, I think we’ll go up (at some point).
The club could really quash the negativity if they came out and confirmed the Lewis/Young money will go into strengthening the squad.

but that might not be their intention at all, in which case they can invite the negativity deservedly and can deal with the consequences of their next ST campaign bombing out.

The club constantly changes it's storyline dependant on the days narrative. If you are handing out long term contracts they had better be some progress when a year or two into those deals or it's pointless. Of all the long term deals given out the last couple of years only Lewis can claim to have been anything of a success. The likes of Young, East and Odusina didn't progress under us at all, Wilson looks right now that he has no future and they signings of Odour and Oliver have given no reward at all. As we sit 14th in league 2 with our third manager of the season and most of our better players out of contract in the summer we can sort out caps and give credit to the fabulous way out club is being run. I guess that applause may only be coming from one particular German......

Well obviously, it's a bit much to imply that it's superb we ended up 6th for the first time in 40 odd years, when we've barely been down here.

I just sometimes think we have to remember, we did nearly get promoted.

But still remain in the Khazi league where's the success in that particularly as we haven't a chance of going up again this season
We may as well have finished 18th
The result is exactly the same

I mentioned this in another thread. I think its a bit unfair on Wilson. We bought him as a winger and he looked decent. But now we don't play with wingers. Not sure how we or he can put him in the shop window if he's now not wanted due to the style we play.

Give it a rest will you, harping on about this 6th place finish in the 4th tier like it's some kind of achievement that ought to be celebrated.

The club is completely f*cked yet you're happy clapping like a circus seal. Wake up

Back on topic I think the club maybe are actually playing this well. JY clearly wants out and is also having his head turned by the interest. If there are 6 or 7 clubs interested as suggested then let them get into a bit of a bidding war to get the best price. Win-win for JY and BCFC. Monies MUST be reinvested though to show any sort of ambition. Whether they will though remains to be seen

Yes but understand it's caused by an allergic reaction to BCFC. It apparently clears up anywhere outside of a BD postcode

When it mattered at the end of the season it simply wasnt good enough hence why we fell short ............Chapman getting injured at Swindon was a killer but the loan players brought in simply didnt have in them to step up to the task.

You can make out that Gent has done a good job in getting just the two players out of the door for money but when your left with 10 or maybe more that no club wont touch then you have a problem.

I mean uf we are to become a buying and selling club then so be it so long as whats left behind is looking like a project in progress can you honestly say it is ?????

Btw how many years has he been here ?????
And his track record is just selling two on out of how many ????,

Its not gonna be reinvested though thats problem ............Young will go later in the window ......... the club will make out that it was to late in the window to bring anyone in and we have Mr Sponsorship coming out all this money raised will go into next seasons budget to pitch his BS season ticket pitch.

Fooking amazes me that the likes of Barrow,Accy Stan even Harrogate can out do us with there budgets and there recruitment yet some on here are happy with this mess :(

You think all 3 i have named have better budgets than us ????? You think all 3 have the same sponsorship deals than us ??? You think all 3 can come anywhere near our merchandise or matchday sales ?????

Nope so please explain why all 3 are above us in the league .............all 3 have a plan all 3 have folk at there clubs who know what they are doing thats the big difference
