If it’s his or his agents spin then you would think the spin would make him look reasonable, this excuse makes him appear dumb. Why would anyone deliberately make oneself appear stupid. I don’t get it either way.

He said in the press before that him and his family moved to Portsmouth when they were there. Obviously might have moved somewhere in the time since his sacking but if he's looking for clubs within a certain milage of there, it's a very small pool.

    Cowley brothers.

Seem to be fairly flawed characters if they went through the interview process.

Fact 1: Since prior to Mark Hughes sacking, Bradford has remained in exactly the same geographical location.
Fact 2: Cowley must have known the location having spent time in Huddersfield.
Fact 3: Cowleys wife’s/partners will have known about the potential appointment. Surely they and their husbands would have discussed this prior to interview?
Fact 4: In addition to the Golden Triangle @Bronco@Bronco posted, then areas of Bradford MBC are affluent. Think Menston (home of a number of footballers I understand), Burley, Ilkley, Addingham to name but a few.
Fact 5: The Cowleys will have been interviewed by Sparks and others. If they had issues, they could have withdrawn at that stage.
Fact 6: The salary and any perks would have been discussed as part of the process. If unacceptable walk away then.
Fact 7: The squad of players has not changed since the interview process began.

Frankly if Cowleys are such poor judges in evaluating information, then l am really pleased that they are not going to be the managers of City!

    100 % Rod.

I understand the resentment some fans have that the situation isn't sorted yet, but nobody comes out of this looking worse than the Cowley(s).

Why the big mystery with Cowley? Surely his throw away excuse has come about as a result of something that put him off prior to the potential appointment and he's just trying to be diplomatic in his public discourse.

    I didn't.

I thought it would have been a dumb appointment, 442 merchants who would have to wait until January before they could even sign a winger.

Would have been a mind boggling departure from Hughes.

It would have been a quintessential Sparks appointment though, reeking of utter panic and desperation as we performed yet another U-turn stylistically.

Let's hope we avoided that and can make a more sensible appointment.

We've got wingers though so even though I don't particularly want to see 442, the squad is more suited to that than it was to Hughes' wingback system.

I also think the wing back system was a mistake, and I was glad when Hughes abandoned it in the end. Nowt wrong with a flat back 4, but as it stands I'm glad we agree about not wanting 442.

The problem with having such a large squad, is the need to constantly chop and change the personnel to keep everyone happy. Wingers in particular need a good run of games to get up to speed, with Chapman being a good example. Unfortunately we've panicked too often and rotated players before they get chance to find form.

Don’t even know why you comment. You will like whatever City say or do… well pretend to us all that you do anyway.

City could hire me as manager and you would like that’s great that! @Fordy117@Fordy117 for manager. Sparks and @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler would last two minutes. I would sort this bloody mess of a club out.

See we all know Soarks isn’t going to hire a manager that will tell him home truths and the club. I wonder why? Yes men around him and that’s why he isn’t learning. Get a DOF in our a strong manager.

And yet despite all of this Sparks had decided they were the men for the job!! So much as usual just doesn't add up, what a shambles we are at the top

However, interviews work two ways. It’s clearly the brothers thought feck this. Basket case club. Don’t want the job but didn’t want to damage the club and put the rejection on them.

You only have to see the links to the job to understand that many top names don’t want it.

For whatever reason he has changed his mind, be that his family or he has slept on it and decided its not for him, then so be it, we move on.
The club thought they had their man , a man many on here were totally against.
I for one would have got behind him or whoever they appoint, that is what a supporter is meant to do, not knock him before a ball has been kicked at our club. It does not matter what he has done before or after he leaves.
Some of the conspiracy theories on here are hilarious.
If Danny Cowley's heart and soul is not into Bradford City, then i for one am glad he has changed his mind.
We do not need a half hearted manager in control.
