Personally I think Parky is pretty arrogant and that dud us no harm at all. Nice guys like Bowyer usually don't succeed.

 

Colchester have a debt mountain reported in the local press to be over £31million in 2021. A bloke called Cowling bankrolls them . His net worth is reported to be circa £40m.
He has just purchased a golf course and claims he wants to make it their training ground in a long term project.
Their ground, built in the middle of absolutely nowhere in a semi industrial and car showroom estate, is owned by the local Council and cost the local taxpayer around £10m of the £15m it cost to build.

Apparantly Cowling doesn’t want his money back. ( But wait until his family does)

I can't imagine the Cowleys being interested in Colchester while they have a chance of the Bradford City job. If they are not the successful candidates with you or Gillingham then it might be a different story. But Colchester is surely one of the least attractive clubs in The EFL even if you are Essex men.

Robbie Cowling, nice guy but think he’s Executive Chairman so possibly interfering a bit. His brother Richard was also involved for a while and some other family members. Obviously well heeled but that doesn’t get nailed on success. When we were in L1 with them he was upgrading Academy to Cat2 from 3 like us. Cost an extra 800k per year which came off first team budget and cost relegation and where they are now only produced Freddie Sears if I remember.

 

Yes, didn't have a great time. Someone must think he's got a chance.
