They did on Saturday and the crowd was definitely an influence.

Poor management of the club as a whole. That's it in a nutshell.

If your theory was true Sutton and Barrow would piss the league every year.

In the Swindon Advertiser (sorry can't link it on here) The Swindon defender Blake Tracy said " The Bradford crowd responded well to how their team played and that made it tough for some Town players. It is probably just the person you are asking but the crowd doesn't really bother me but for some players it is different and they can get nervous, some people feel like the momentum is swinging or whatever but you have to block that out"

If big crowds are a hindrance, then how come the clubs with the largest attendances in the Premiership tend to be at the top of the table?
Below is a list of City’s average attendance since 2006/7

Wow in games under Hughes where we had lots of possession we picked up an average of a point a game relegation form yet in games where we didn’t have possession playing more direct or whatever it was promotion form. Amazing stats those.

It's very interesting, but of course it would be silly to say that possession-based styles are wrong.

If you can coach a team to have the majority of the ball, you can then work on creating those chances you're obviously going to need, then you've got a perfect baseline style. You can control the ball, you control territory, you control the chances.

Obviously we didn't get there, but it's still a clearly viable blueprint, and that's what the best teams in the world do, and it has worked at League Two level for other clubs.

Until you get the balance right, possession can feel like it has no purpose and is "possession for the sake of possession", but that's a very short termist mentality: mastering possession is just a step on the road to having a viable style of football.

But again, you have to get the attacking aspect right, and despite being 5th highest goalscorers last season, we never really quite got there and got worse this season.

    It's a shame.

    Yes, very damning for MH.
Won 4/25 when we had 55% + possession. Only 23 points, relegation form.
Games below 55% possession would equate to 91 points over the season. Form of Champions.

Amazing that MH couldn't adapt to get the best out of the team.

It's not surprising, in all the time we've been at this level, not just under Hughes, we've never come up with a solution to the problem of teams turning up to VP with 10 behind the ball hoping to nick a late goal smash-and-grab... number one issue for me for the new manager (and why I'm not getting too carried away with the Swindon performance, given even under Hughes a game we'd probably have done well in)

Largest attendances, bigger income, bigger merchandise sales , larger commercial activity leads to more cash for transfers , better players and managers, better team, higher the table . You are right, it’s pretty obvious Rod.

On that basis we should be a Championship club……oh wait.
I do agree however that the more money generated equates to a better chance of success.

We forever and quite rightly moaned at the way we played out from the back under MH, but watch a premiership match these days and they all do it up to 10 times worse, also notice that their keepers sometimes now walks the ball towards the halfway line before releasing it ....boring as hell ..
