    The preferred change of name for the Championship for some aspiring clubs who want better access to the PL's riches!

    Seriously, it's what the PL's U21/U23 development leagues have morphed into. It's now exclusively for Cat 1 Academies. Villa are in the 2nd division of PL2.

    Signing two wingers in a week, to go along with Smith, Walker, Odour who've started wide this season. Chapman to come back, as well as Osadebe who has covered there as well as Tulloch coming in who plays up front and on the wing..... Pointon isn't getting any game time.

    In today's press meeting, MH described him as 'one for the future'. I find this odd in the context of a loanee who should really be first team ready.

    I don't really understand the signing - just makes it harder for our lads to get game time.

    He'll probably create more assists than anyone this season now I've said that though!!

    The amount of incoming attackers, including wingers is somewhat worrying considering we already have a lot of players for these positions. I think we might see someone like Chapman or Walker move on today who are on high wages but hope I am wrong.

    I'd like to see a few shifted out today and see another CM and CB come in.

    Pointon for me looks more comfortable down the middle in the 10 role.
    He will come on for Walker to help maintain his fitness.

    We had a lot of players last season and thank god cos we lost Osadebe and Walker for long periods.
    Imo we need 10 attacking players.

    Cook
    Chapman
    Walker
    Pointon
    Wilson
    Afoka
    Odour
    Pattison
    Oliver
    Osadebe

    Who knows when Oliver is back.

    It's growing into a large squad once the likes of Oliver, Chapman and Taylor are back from injury. That seems to contradict what Sparks said about having a good base to work on and having a leaner squad for the coming season. Maybe it's all part of having a more flexible squad as MH described it with plenty of options.

    I'm expecting the likes of Youmbi and maybe Pointon going out on loan at some stage.

    If we use a 10 which would mean a 4 at the back change, it will be Walker or Pattison playing at 10. This week has moved Pointon way down the pecking order pretty much all over that attacking mid/wing line unfortunately.

    Could we say that we are hoarding average league two players instead of focusing on quality in specific areas? Although the new young players we've brought in are unknown, the players we've kept from last season are very average aside from one or two

    Now the squad is nearing completion, it has a feeling that it is quantity over quality in some areas. I had hoped for the very opposite.
