He's not started a game of football since September 2019, wouldn't go anywhere near him. He signed a 3 and a half year deal with a Turkish second division side in Jan 2022 and never managed an appearance, they cancelled his deal.

He's said before when he couldn't get in the Derby side he's struggling with depression. Hopefully the lad gets back on track but I'd be amazed if a football league club bothers to speak to a lad who's barely kicked a ball for 4 years.

 

No pace whatsoever in there though.

 

I saw that and thought the same but he's not played for 3 years now apparently due to personal and mental health issues.

My question would be about his reasons for returning. If they are the right ones then perhaps he's worth a shot for a club but there has to be serious doubts from anyone that takes the risk.

As he’s not assigned he could go anywhere on trial without having a contract , so nothing lost for any club giving him a shot Dave. He may be doing it for motivational and recovery reasons, if so good luck to him.

 

You highlighted the piece which i clearly stated was just my opinion, however if you read it all and not just the bit that triggered you , then you will see the rest of it is a lot of what you are saying. In essence that we seem to be avoiding the "big names" thus far and would appear to be using strategic recruitment instead.


I'll re-iterate my dreaded budget comment and offer further explanation why - as I dont believe those that come in so far will be on high wages, due to their pedigree except maybe mcdonald, so if we are operating on a similar budget then there should be plenty left over for XXX or January.

Great news. Not certain why the worried face. Arguably the only one outside defence, that was good for each of the last ten matches.

Midfield very much sorted now.

He won't be on the subs bench. Could be the Hughes wants hin further forward or as a wing back

 

With Gilly resigning i can't see any more midfield signings. I expect another right back, probably a loan, maybe another striker?
