Their owners are using it to assist their tax burden perhaps?

I keep hearing this talk of lack of money, investment in the club. The situation we have right now isn't the best, but that does not mean that we are down an out. We still have one of the biggest budgets in the league. It is more than enough to bring in the right quality to the team. How that money is spent however is down to management, not ownership. An before some smartass decides to say "Oh, well the ownership should have some say in how money is spent on what players" may I remind you, the reason we are in this shit hole of a league is because our former owner did exactly that. Stick his nose into business that had nothing to do with him

And another thing, since when did having the most money guarantee success? It is highly unlikely that either Stevenage or Carlisle had bigger budgets than us, you could perhaps throw Northampton into that list as well

Stockport an Salford have bigger budgets than us, or at least owners that are "willing to invest", an where exactly are they? thats right, the same league as us

in regards to "potential signings" that went elsewhere

Williams - Sick of hearing his name in this thread. Gets paid more than he would if he joined us, an does not have to relocate. Dont understand why were still mentioning this bollocks. We kept Cook because he wants to stay in the north, I dont see other teams fans complaining at that logic

Stockton - Gets to play in a League above us, with better quality players around him, slightly better refs who will somewhat protect him from the mammoths we call 'League Two Defenders' an gets regular playing time. Makes sense to me

Crichlow - Stayed in League Two for the last 2 years, dont blame him for wanting to challenge himself in League One. He is very capable of making the step up

Brough - Was never likely to join us in the first place

That's got to be right up there with the daftest comment I read on this forum, how do I or any other Bradford City fan have any influence on what is spent after we do our bit by purchasing season tickets merchandise etc.
If you believe owning Valley Parade and our own training facilities would make us a better investment opportunity, you only need to look 10 miles down the road to see that a club like Leeds who owned neither their ground or Thorpe Arch could be of interest to the right investor.

Such a ridiculous argument it’s not my business of course not . When the day Rupp leaves is he going to share with me the money he is going to earn?
I never suggested we do, my statement was around us as a fan base frightened of debt. Mindset I would suggest comes from the admin days.

Totally agree we do our bit as Fans and then some I would argue. My overriding statement is what is Rupp bringing to the table?

Even if it was a loan to boost the coffers or allow us into the purchasing market as opposed to free agents I’d be be happy, but like I said the club is scared of debt.

I don’t care a jot about the ground or training facilities would suggest more than adequate for where we currently are. The investment should be in playing assets.

I don’t tell the club how to spend its money. I’ve seen it too many years living on the breadline and along with others seeing administration after financial mismanagement twice. Chucking £5 of my weekly wage of £8 trying to keep the club alive . @Bronco@Bronco and a few others were there too. I don’t want to see it disappear thank you. So no I don’t advocate high unmanageable debt, because it has to be paid back . So yes that’s my opinion, but I will call put people who think it’s a game to spend willy nilly forgetting the consequences if it doesn’t pay off . We don’t have a sugar daddy in waiting……do we?

I am sorry it’s such an extreme, no one not one person would advocate that. Proper investment that allows the club in the longer term to be even more successful. Purchasing assets or enticing top quality free agents.

You really think we are going to continue with this commercial revenue with a lack of success on the pitch.

It would be interesting to see how much they are paying him. I think he was desperate for L1 football.

Who on earth is saying that we should accrue unmanageable debt? Or forget the consequences of overspending?

As Wisden said previously "How many clubs in the last say 4 years up and down the leagues have had promotions by being fully sustainable". From what I can see it's 0. Is it really a terrible thing to talk about/ want an owner who is willing to invest in the club we all love?

All this when in reality it boils down to

    “I want results now”

we went from 14th to 6th had 20 points more this season, its petulant child behaviour.

people moan about happy clappers bring the club down but what the hell does moaning about the club do?

If anything its made home games harder as apposing teams use it to their advantage, players wont want to play for the club and sponsors wont get involved.

If moaning is key to success why haven't we won the CL?

For what its worth, I completely agree with @Kevin1954@Kevin1954

The mistake this club makes is mentioning things like sustainability or deficit. It puts thoughts in fans mind that somehow we are different from other clubs. Where in fact most clubs either spend what they earn or spend every season servicing big debts.
