I'd be with you, if we'd conceded more than 50. But I'll accept conceding far less than a goal a game for the next zillion seasons, if it could be fixed.

But you dismiss him after 15 minutes in Match 1 and probably not even 90 more in his other matches.

 

I don't believe he would have more impact in terms of goals and assists than Banks.

I also disagree that not having him for all season has been a disadvantage because we knew he would be out for the season so were able to plan accordingly and bring in a player for the whole year or in January if needed. Its more difficult in the situation of Chapman or Oliver who go injured in the final quarter of the season when a team can't do anything to replace them.

 

The two , one especially with the Southern accent, two hat Cobblers commentary team made obese Evans sound intelligent . He was appallingly poor and biased.

 

Disagree. Your point is hard to prove and hence feels contrary just to suit your narrative.

We have conceded many goals at set pieces with players having free headers. I can't think it has saved goals. That doesn't really make sense as a statement.

Thing is, we are only (usually) one goal in front when we concede poor goals, whether we’ve conceded 40 odd, or, 30 odd. So it only takes one poorly defended cross to cost us, so I doesn’t matter how many goals we’ve conceded. We just don’t do “zonal” marking or whatever it’s called.

 

Walker has been average since he came back. Hughes has been very well backed. His tactics are OK, but there are clear flaws. If we don't go up, it's not on injuries, or officials. He's been well backed.

 

Even less than Northampton though

 

The players do have that attitude. We've bombed when we become well placed, then find a result when we're lagging behind. We haven't been a top 3 side all season. We've always been in the group behind.

 

You are right Dave , but at the time it was sometimes warranted. He proved us all to be wrong in one way or another. Hats off to the lad. A kick up the pants by MH worked.

Hope the players aren't reading your negativity m8, we might as well not turn up or summat. In a way i hope Stockport go up, Challinor has done exactly what he did last season where they started off very slow and really hit the straps come the end of the season. I don't want Salford to get through to the final as Wembley will be absolutely soulless and i'd have no problem facing either Carlisle or Northampton as neither are owt special. Carlisle at Wembley would be a good occasion.

 

Win at Crewe and the grandson will be getting me to book the limo again, I can't see results going for us that Northampton lose and Stockport lose or draw and we win, but I wont right us off, win both games and who knows at worst it could be 4th or 5th place, although the way we've played at Valley Parade I'm not sure that would be to our advantage.
