Transfer Rumour Thread...

It has been quite this week after all the signings last week. I want a striker, a good back up goalie, and a couple of treats if the budget can stretch :thumbsup:

 

I never agree with Park, but your opinion is also flawed. Magennis and Donaldson are more than capable of replacing Ameobi and Madine. Let’s face it, Madine left in January and they still escaped relegation and Ameobi isn’t good enough for Championship football anyway.

Morais played less and less last season and didn’t have the same impact at his first 4-5mths at the club.

You suggest Wildschut could be Clough’s replacement and then suggest he is more of a midfielder. I’d suggest Oztumer is the closest player to Clough.

Besides, they got promoted out of League1 without Zach Clough and he wasn’t with them in their 1st season in the Championship so why do any of their recent signings need to be his replacement?

In fact. Who have they released this summer that they haven’t replaced or haven’t replaced with better?

As I say, I’m no fan of Park, but criticising him for not debating on this matter is no worse different than providing invalid facts to back up your own point.

Here’s another one that is making stuff up to win a debate. Why will they be easier to break down this season? Which of their back line have they lost? I only see a better right-back joining and a good loan keeper, so possibly stronger.

And haven’t our own fans been telling us not to judge anything on pre-season games, yet you’re writing them off on their friendlies. So if we get turned over this afternoon, we better expect relegation, right?

Don’t get me wrong, PP is going to have a tough season ahead and it is going to take something special to keep them up. But then, the same was said of them last season too.

TBF, this is no different than ANY other thread that gets started. They always go off topic. This one started about Bolton’s interest in Wyke (transfer rumour), but when they agreed a fee for Magennis, it sort of ends their interest. And (wrongly, I know) escalated from there

But it’s no different than any other thread that gets started on here.

 

Not sure apologies are needed, neither has there been any short shrift imho. It’s pretty natural that forum topics deviate... remember this was a discussion about strikers. I happened to mention that Parky didn’t have much idea about spotting or indeed signing one. It then harmlessly progressed without any malice, just debate, into a discussion about Bolton. No one meant to offend, hence no apology required. Don’t worry it will soon get back into slagging off the merits of selling Charlie or the quality of any signings we may make in the next few days

Well, we wanted Dennis in January and didn’t sign anyone (so that is one spot). We have sold Poleon (so that is two spots). If and when Wyke goes, I make it 3 strikers/forwards needed
