Blimey. Not sure what job you have, but if you are ‘guilty’ of Tax Evasion you risk being taken to court.

Look Evans was ‘convicted’ of a criminal offence. He was lucky to receive a none custodial sentence.

If you read the history, you can see he apparently set out to deliberately evade paying Tax. This wasn’t someone who forgot to declare some earnings.

He was convicted by a court of a criminal act. The burden of proof is ‘beyond reasonable doubt’.

Not only did the Courts find him guilty so did the FA.

There is no record that I am aware of, that he tried to appeal his conviction.

Here is a very reasonable summary. http://twohundredpercent.net/steve-evans-football-manager-convicted-criminal/

It gets very worrying when people try to ‘down play’ criminal behaviour.
Can't read this, black text on black background !

Looking at the discipline stats from yesterday . Doncaster 14 fouls and 2 bookings, a 14 % booking ratio. City 7 fouls and 4 yellows, almost a 60% ratio. Odd stats, as i would have said we were not anymore dirtier than them , although Costelloe's booking was petulant and completely unnecessary

Strong disagree with you there. I know typically you are on the wind up but if Hughes had gone 5 without winning youd be calling for his head.

Heck you have zero clue how close or far apart our budgets actually are.
And to add to that i guarantee if we were 2nd youd say it was luck.

the club cannot win on this forum but every other club can.

this doesn’t sound like a club that requires a “consideration” to ours and their budget.

Not sure the budgets are as shoestring as people like to make out on here, i mean we lost Watt to salford purely on money. If our budget was that big we could have just paid him what he wanted..

We pay what we think he's worth not what he wants... Big difference

5 games? I'm talking about 31 and after 31 they are 3rd and we're 8th. It's that you're somehow suggesting that the last few games means 8th place has performed better than 3rd so far is a logic I'm really struggling with.

As for the budgets, no I don't know, you're correct but I'm reasonably confident that if they were known, City's would be far higher than that of Stevenage.

Regardless of his character (very dodgy) the so called football purists on here would balk at the tactics he uses no matter how effective they were

You didn’t answer my point regarding what would happen if Hughes went on a similar run (D2 L3) with us. You would be calling for him to be sacked no?

It's that you're somehow suggesting that the last few games means 8th place has performed better than 3rd so far is a logic I'm really struggling with.

That is exactly what I am saying yes. I mean we beat them twice.
How are you struggling to understand how form works? That’s literally what form means.

I am suggesting if Hughes got 2 points from a possible 15 (We are on 10/15) people would be calling for Hughes head. I am suggesting you would be one of those people. Giving our own team a harder run compared to other teams.

I really don’t understand how I can explain this any better to you.

Like they did with Parkinson? Or was he a football purist?

City fans wanting pure football is a myth. Facts are that if it's reasonably entertaining and we're winning games we'd accept ANY style of football and it's been proven in the past with the rare successful sides we've had being built on very different footballing styles.

I'll make it REALLY, REALLY simple for you.

If we're in 3rd and had been in the top 3 virtually all season there's not a SINGLE poster on here wanting Hughes sacked. Not a single one and you suggesting otherwise is clearly nonsense.

You missed the "so far" bit m9. Have a look at the league table. We've played 31 games not 5.

Neither of us know the in and outs of his salford transfer. I will just say he's one of the higher performing players in the league. So either its down to poor recruitment or unable to match his offered wages from Salford. Take your pick.

Yes they would. Similar thing happened to Adams and McCall. They both got sacked on similar poor runs of form.

there is a thread on this forum saying “Hughes your football is…” not particularly pleasant for a manager who is on course for our best finish, in around 6 years..

So on the current form we will overtake stevenage by two points after the next five games. What would you say then? Is Evans ability as a manger rendered completely moot by City and Hughes being above them? Or should stevenage have not been there in the first place?

Shame we didn’t think he was worth more, comfortably the top assister in the league and a big reason we looked good under Hughes at the end of last season imo. Very underrated by some.

Yesterday's game was a rare miss for me due to work and I've run out of holidays but I'll be at Gillingham on Tuesday. Had to settle for Filipe Morals on Radio Leeds. He was saying that Costello did a lot of intelligent running off the ball which probably helped free up space for Cook. I think a lot of us don't notice a lot of stuff that an ex pro like Morals will spot.

I agree with Hughes on this the running off the ball in this match by the front two was the big difference from the barrow game. By doing that it finds space for defenders and midfielders to find. Despite what some say Costello has a good game. Not sure he is a finisher though how long is Derbyshire out?

That's what was the concern with Costelloe at Burnley, the lack of end product.

I think the hope was he'd come down to League Two and start scoring and building confidence, but sometimes it's just not a player's thing.

We have Gilliead already who couldn't finish a sentence.
