Fully agree. Mansfield could have had 3 or 4 themselves today.

Yet again we fade from the 70 minute mark. This seems to have been true for a number of seasons so there must be something causing it that isn't connected to the present crop of players. My theory is that training on heavy ground next to a river takes too much out of players during the week and leaves them struggling at the end of Saturday games, but I've no way of proving that. What is interesting though is the number of players over the years who've come here with good records and just don't produce it for us. Or players who are poor for us but prosper once they've left. Or, in some cases, both. It also seems to affect our midfield players, the ones who do the most running, worse than the others. If there is some unknown factor influencing our performances it would also explain why so many managers with apparent ability fail here. The phenomenon also seems to have got worse in recent times as winters have got milder and wetter. Global warming, milder wetter winters, heavier training ground, fading badly at the end of matches. Could there be a connection?
And a further thought. Last year there was much less rainfall than usual from January onwards which led to water shortages in the summer. That coincided with our best form of the season. And how many seasons have we performed well in August, September and into October and then in April and May?

So if we owned the same grass we are training what difference do you think that would make to match day performances?

The pitches at the training ground are far better than our Home pitch, more so the one through the arches which is out of the way. They have spent a lot on it and it's like a bowling green, go have a look.

Hughes' post match interview nearly resulted in me totalling my car into a lamppost. It was absolutely minging.

We need our own training ground. What are we? A small time club that own F all?

Couldn’t believe he blamed the ref for adding too much stoppage time. They scored in the first minute of time added on, did he expect the ref to blow for time bang on 90 minutes.

That global warming is the reason behind our perennially abject second half performances? A pint of what you two are smoking please. Heard it all now.

No, it’s football and our training ground doesn’t help us at all.

Are you Michael Howard in disguise?? Constantly avoiding answering the question?

Let’s be honest. Today’s test was the ‘decider’, whether or not we have the potential to go up or stay in this godforsaken league for yet another year. It’s not going to happen this year unfortunately.

The alternative is that we consistently appoint useless managers with Hughes being the latest in a long line. An equally plausible explanation.
