I saw enough last season to think Walker is a very good player for this level.

Unfortunately, due to his injury in August, he's not got his season going yet. Hopefully that re-starts for him on Ssturday and he gets a good run of games under his belt

I agree. I could possibly excuse a play off final defeat as long as we made up for it next season.

If we dont make the play offs then questions need to be asked.

Stockport's the only example. There was no plan for scoring against them. The plan was to stop them scoring, get them frustrated and then exploit that as coming away with a point was a good result.

I'm surprised that some fans, don't see that match as a bit of a one-off, after all they created chances at Wimbledon.

I'm also a bit perplexed as to why Hughes hasn't been praised for a last realising that a cynical approach is needed in all L2 matches - that's why Northampton have done well for the last 18 months. If we'd seen Stevenage do this, we'd be praising Steve Evans 'streetwise' management.

It's a though getting a point with no ambition to score is worse than losing having had five shots on target.

I've been largely entertained this year. Yes, we need to get the ball forward a bit quicker - but we also need to take some of the good chances created.

Your last paragraph is absolutely bang on.
Even more so the last sentence.
Without picking on Chapman specifically (which I’m going to do) he’s been in numerous scoring positions where he’s not even hit the target or made the goalie work.
We must make more of the actual chances we are creating if we are to make owt of this season.

Anyway, less of this... any rumour on who the player we may or may not have signed is? And who do we reckon the player was who the championship team blue-balled us over??

We’ll see, I agree with a lot of your points in this comment, but still don’t believe Hughes has a mindset attacking enough for us to make a serious push.
Without labouring too much, the example I’d give that shows his lack of ambition tactically was Rochdale.
2-1 down at home, Cook given 6 minutes at the end despite chasing the game.
Defending a last minute corner and all eleven of our men camped in our own box.
His comment afterwards - I didn’t want to bring him on sooner as it would’ve involved changing the whole way we play. That’s exactly what I’d expect and hope for when losing 2-1 at home with 20 minutes left.
Change the way we are playing as it’s clearly not worked up to that point on the day.

Nothing on Radio Leeds today, so I'm assuming that whoever this was, it didn't get done.

I agree Idle. I also think he is a very good player, probably our best when fit. Just saying he hasn't proved he's an inspirational leader....yet

I don't get the mass change approach in January (other than to replace people who leave). I guess he wanted more leaders of strong character. That says a lot about the recruitment in the summer. It's all on Hughes to prove the fans wrong when we find the style and results crap. As I have said before, Feb will be the test. I believe results this month will mirror the end of season position. Fail and the ST'S will plummet !

Rumours it was Wyke. Prepared to let him go but with Toure getting sacked and new manager the Wigan management decided against. Assume this was last week and we made a late move for someone else as a result.

    Assuming the rumours are correct!

You make an interesting point about Foulds and there is a clue about his personality in MH comments in the Y Post today. "I'm a little bit surprised he (Foulds) didn't back his own ability and take the challenge up", the challenge MH is referring to is the signing of Bola. Tells you something, he appears to have wanted to move as soon as the Bola signing was made.

That would have been some signing... Parker in the T&A did do a poll of the best January signings which Wyke won by a mile, wonder if that was a little nudge nudge wink wink as to what was maybe happening

Mates with Gilli and a few others.
Gent will know from Boro days.
Was in crowd at the stockport game.

A few dots to connect there.

He's 4th or 5th choice at Wigan now it seems up top, suppose it depends on of the new guy wants to play 2 up top.

Swindon seem to think we were after Joe Tomlinson who they signed yesterday on loan from Peterborough.

If he's mates with Gent then I'm just going to assume we're announcing him at 11am!

Can not see this myself, unless one of Oliver or Cook was leaving. nothing announced either way .
Looking forward to Saturday to see what team Hughes puts out. Whoever plays, we need to do our bit and raise the atmosphere to a cauldron , lets frighten the other teams and roar city on and make Valley parade a place where teams don't want to play. We have our part to play in this, other than whinging on social media.

Waiting to hear about the 8th man has more suspense than watching the 12th man.

It could end up being another name to add to the nearly team, to keep Sharp and Moore on their toes.

Exactly, let everyone else have theirs too without you ramming it down their throat that they're wrong.

If people feel we are weaker than January 1st then so be it, if people believe Hughes is currently failing, so be it. If people think the club is an absolute mess and taking far too long to drag themselves out the said mess then so be it.

There are a million reasons, for all the above to be true, in fact many people share those same opinion.

Opinions are like arseholes, everyone has got one. No need to berate everyone's that appears different to yours

Signing Wyke would make very little sense but our whole January window hasnt made any sense so you never know.
