I'd politely disagree there. MH is the one responsible for telling league 2 standard players to play out from the back as if they're Man City. It's no surprise they've been coughing up possession when put under pressure. It's only the last 3 games that he's ditched that formation and the players look much more comfortable.

Interesting thread but for me MHs position isnt even up for debate. Tuesday was a shocker as was Carlisle and Northampton but as others have said, we are still in the mix.

Conditions on Tuesday were always going to be against us due to the way we play but we were well on the way to an 'ugly' win before the ref intervened. These things happen although it does feel we've been on the wrong end of some bad calls too often this season.
Agree that we are lacking in the midfield. A Josh Cullen type loanee could make all the difference so hopefully the clubs recruitment will work some magic this month.
For me, I dont think we will finish below 7th, but this months recruitment will dictate where in the top 7 we'll finish. A year ago the atmosphere around the club was toxic, and MH as a 'name' appointment and the club as a whole turned that around and gave us genuine belief of success this season. Its not perfect and mistakes have been made but had we sold our soul and appointed Mr Evans as some have suggested we should, then I genuinely think it would have ripped the club apart. The toxicity would have reached unprecedented levels the first time we had a wobble so as has been said, we really need to be careful what we wish for!!

give over if the players are not performing then it’s down to him to sort it out ...........soon as we went 2-1 down to Rochdale he should have changed it then ........... but god knows what him and hodges where doing with that paper ??????? I don’t want him sacked but if we are still in this division come next season then good luck in selling the same amount of season tickets next term

I thought there were a couple of good moves from him, that his colleagues totally wasted and then he got drawn into been rubbish like the rest of them.

I think Walker is a more savvy footballer and even in these two sub appearances, he's showed more footie intelligence than Chapman has almost all season. Plus his body language is far better. He's fairly feisty - which if you remember that's one of the reasons Adam's bought him to us.

It's going to take another 4 or 5 matches for him to be back to peak fitness etc.

Good points. I disagree about Evans. Yes, he'd be given less time, but if you listen to his interviews (this saddo listens to most post match L2 managers interviews) he's charm personified these days.

I would have imagined him coming in and apologising profusely for the Crawley incident etc

Evans would have taking us up for sure. That’s our wish.

In terms us finishing in the top 7 that would be failure considering how poor the league is. Anything but automatic places is a success. We really should be in the automatic places right now comfortably.

But we now know that our midfield isnt currently good enough for a team with top 3 ambitions. Hopefully we'll put that right. There are absolutely no guarantees with Evans although I accept his track record at this level is good.

Im sure he would but even if some were prepared to give him the benefit initially I doubt it would take much for that to change. All irrelevant anyway as it will never happen!

Definitely a no from me in terms of getting rid of Hughes. Even if we fail this year he should be given next season and will hopefully have learnt more about L2 in that time. I believe he is contracted to summer 2024, and if he fails to take us up by then he has had his chance and we should make a move.

For now, as @bantamdave41@bantamdave41 says, we are well placed and a good run keeps us there. It's annoying that he seems to be a slow learner, but Parky didn't do it in his first season and this is still Hughes first full season (I accept Parky did do it in his first full season but he came in after four matches so had the time to assess).

Not sure what Ryan Sparks has done to deserve the sack. We were all amazed to have Hughes as manager and he has been provided withe the tools to do a far better job than he is doing.
I am not for this manager merry go round, but Hughes is under performing as manager, Stephan Rupp also needs to put the club up for sale for a reasonable price and move on and let someone who is actually interested in football have a go.

Stroking his ego and getting 5 minutes of fame by signing MH. Thus, trying to further his career and fecking over Bradford City AFC. Just a thought.

We got Adams, most thought good move, we sacked Adams, most thought good move. Hughes came in , most thought brilliant. Nothing to do with Sparks ego and taking his career further, The managers and players are letting the fans and club down.

So .... I think we have the players needed to mount a promotion challenge. We perhaps need another midfielder but we most of all need a new approach from the manager. The play is rubbish, team set up suspect, game management all but none existent and he has another year contract!

I agree a lot of his decisions are baffling to say the least, but despite the clear and obvious bad choices that seem to be currently made I'm prepared to grind it out and see where it gets us if we actually give a manager a proper shot at being our clubs manager for a reasonable amount of time. Don't get me wrong here I certainly think he is currently underachieving with the tools available to him, but at the end of the day he is an experienced higher level player / ex manager so he is new to how the khazi works and hopefully he has the experience behind him to quickly adapt and learn to what we currently require. Yes it may fail but end of the day where has hiring and firing got us??

We are 6 points off automatic promotion, with 63 still to play for. Whilst we haven’t quite got it right, we should be challenging for promotion/play offs for the rest of the season. Now is not the time to be changing manager.

Not sure what game you was watching against Rochdale but our second half performance was nothing to do with the ref we were dreadful . Like we have been in many games this season. We don’t score enough goals but we’re hardly going to when our top goal scorer only gets 15 minutes at the most every game . Oliver is terrible
