I think there are plenty of players we could move on, which we wouldn’t miss if they left, but in terms of arrivals there is only really CM where we could possibly strengthen now.

We could benefit from a winger with end product but such a player won’t be cheap and we already have Eisa, Chapman, Wright, Banks, Pereira, and even Gillead and Walker if needed, for the roles either side of VO/AC.

At the minute our CM backups are Sutton or Songoo, and even Gillead could be upgraded.

Quite how we can convince a club to part with a combative CM in Jan I don’t know. Maybe we’ll have to take a risk on one out of favour somewhere, like a Jacob Davenport at Lincoln. Was released along with Chapman at Blackburn but not had much of a kick for Lincoln. Hughes possibly knows people who worked with him at Man City when he was in youth set up…….

Tend to agree with your first five Sergio but would keep Songo'o - he's a really useful across the back utility defender and never says die.

I think Odesebe probably takes Sutton's shirt eventually so I'm still hoping we bring in one more to either replace Gillead or give him the motivation to be brave enough to actually use the talent he's clearly got.

I’d be careful not to shift too many players on. We’ve done pretty well with injuries so far (except the couple of long term ones) but the likes of Songo and Hendrie provide good cover given their versatility and I wouldn’t be getting rid.

The big one for me is when Odesebe is going to be fit. If it’s still a month or two before he is even on the bench then another CM is needed, otherwise I don’t think it’s as pressing (unless we move East on). For me the squad looks good and if Walker and Odesebe come back into the team over the coming weeks then that’s essentially 2 new players.

I wouldn't move Songo'o on. Hendrie though, can go for me. Sutton is a better deputy and I'd rather put the money into a quality CM.

We really don't need much though, IF we retain the sort of approach we've deployed over the last couple of games.

Think folk look past Hendries lack of ability because of his surname. If Halliday gets injured we are fooked because he is absolute crap.

Appreciate we are only L2 but would like someone to challenge Halliday rather than just be a body to step in when needed. Thats what promotion teams have.

Totally agree re Hendrie. But I have been impressed with Halliday who has been really consistent so it would need a real quality player to be able to take his place.

Exactly so anyone coming in for that position is likely to sit on the bench so might as well keep Hendrie. Jake Young and Dion out one or two in

Surely one of the forwards must be on the way out. Cook, Oliver, Angol, Derbyshire , Young.
    Can not play them all.
Angol out permanent and Young on loan

But shouldn’t be and that’s the problem.

He should be on the bench at best.

We need better in CM to replace him and put him on the bench allowing us to move Sutton on.

This is how you improve a squad.

I get the theory but I would argue Sutton would be a better option to have on the bench than Gilly. More versatile and also more capable of making an impact.....I'll expect your standard reply :grinning:

I have to agree with you. Looking at Jamie Walker when he came on, he'd had the illness on top of his injury layoff so he didn't have the stamina in his legs but given all that we still got a reminder of his quality. Chapman has lacked an end product (otherwise Blackburn wouldn't have let him go) but he has worked hard all season thus far, taking us up the pitch. Walker showed enough on Sunday to remind us he will be a big upgrade on Harry Chapman in that position.

Davenport has been signed to fill that role. If MH can get one he just wants a tough experienced central midfielder
