For me Hendrie, Ridehalgh, Perreira and Angol can follow him. Free up some space and £££ to bring in reinforcements. I wouldnt be against Sutton or Songo moving on either if we find a few quid to upgrade them.

Technically he's fat better than this division and he does put a shift in but he's lacking in goals and assists, which to be fair is the whole reason he's in the team.

Lacking in assists is a difficult one though given that he is creative, he's at the top end of our assist charts despite not taking many set pieces and with better finishing around him imo could have reasonably expected a few more.

Yep , pretty fair, as they are all looking for new deals or clubs in June anyway from memory? ( Maybe not Sutty?)

We probably wouldn’t be offering new deals to any of them in all honesty.

Cant see many moving as Hughes hinted Dion will return to Luton but I will be very surprised if he lets Ridhalge leave he is good at this level. I also think Angol will be more effective given the new slightly more direct tactics. Holliday has been a very good signing and I don’t think anybody will want to come in to sit on the bench so I think Hendrie will be here. I think Sutton may push for a move when Walker is fully fit which judging by Sunday is a way off yet. Osudina could move because we have got the Irishman now. But I think there will be only one possibly two further incomings

Thing is, much as we would all love it, we can't have a squad of 22 first eleven players, for financial and squad harmony reasons. You won't be surprised to hear Kev that I would keep Hendrie (to cover both FBs) and Sutton, because as he is proving at the moment, he can do a job. Can we get someone better....sure. Is anyone better, available and affordable...not so sure.

We actually have 33 players in the squad (okay some are out on loan) that includes players under 22 years of age and 4 keepers. Still a large squad given the fact the club doesn’t play reserve games and is out of all the cups.

If the right players become available then yes. I want a 22 man squad capable of promoting us. Always opportunities - form, tactics, rest, injuries to stake your claim.

Personally I think Foulds, Gilliead and Sutton can be upgraded with relative ease. All 3 are 'ok' but thats as far as it goes.

Two wins doesnt convince me after 2 months of absolute shite.

Even if you upgrade them..which I don't think is as easy as you make out....you still need back up outside the starting eleven

Hi Rod. I'm not exactly sure what point you are making :) . However I would say that if we trimmed the current 33 down to 22, Hendrie and Sutton would be in the 22, in my opinion

Just taking into account your reference to 22, when in fact we have 33. Personally I would have thought a squad of around 25 would be preferable.

That would save 8 wages, the spare funds could be used, to potentially bring in higher calibre players.

I agree with you about Sutton and Hendrie, they may not be regular starters, but can offer something if there is a reason the regular starter cannot play.

just seen the T&A update that says he’s signed a long term deal with an EFL club. Interesting.

Thanks for the info Rod. So the actual playing squad is 22 senior players and as many youngsters as you want?

Totally agree with your assessment. It’s a hard call. As long as these players understand they are squad players and won’t see much, if any first team action

As my post on the Crichlow thread, another sound piece of business by Ryan Sparks. Saves our contribution to his wages for 6 months left on loan plus apparently a fee. As is common lower clubs can never afford the full wage, hence the higher club contributes. Well done I say.

Which would be Foulds, Sutton and Gilliead. A place in the squad just a stronger 11.

Cant find anything to confirm it yet but the rumour is that he's joining Hartlepool.

Ah slightly misunderstood your original post. That makes sense, if the right players are available and we can afford them

i see Connor Wood has joined Colchester on loan, having not kicked a ball in the league for Orient this year.
Another talent working his way down the football pyramid.

Agree. Can see why he's made little impact at Luton after so long - full of enthusiasm and foot skill but a headless chicken when it comes to reading the game around him.
