Collins' post match comments clearly indicated that we were outplayed. Stating that (paraphrasing) he'd rather find out the problems now that a few weeks into the season etc etc. As I'm yet to read any sort of praise for either game and we lost them both comfortably, I'm going to stick with the notion that we were outplayed.

 

I hear you but another interpretation is we lost the first half 6-0, we went in at HT, he kicked their arises and we won the second half 2-1.

 

What I would like to know is whose Idea was it to throw all our young kids into the team today, and why. I am betting it wasn’t Greg’s. Young players need time and encouragement, plus they also need to play alongside experienced professionals to calm them down when the going gets tough and to stop them from panicking. We managed to win the second half, I wasn’t there but reports suggest, they panicked in the first half.

Whose ever idea to let them play all together needs to have a serious look at themselves in the mirror, and think about the tried and tested way of introducing young players into playing in competitive matches. We could have destroyed their confidence for months.

 

Piss poor, embarrassing result today, not really arsed if it is important or not. But no one can deny, so close to a season, fringe players or not, for any Bradford City side to get battered by that scoreline, by a non league side, is impressive. As i said before, our second team surpassed any recent pre season losses i can think of, going back some yrs. probably best just ignore it though, nothing to see here. We won't need to dip into these squad players at any time in the forthcoming season, as we glide effortlessly through it, injury and suspension free . Far too little match prep for our first team, today was a shambles every which way.

 

Where is Collins post match interview?

 

Not that I heard. Where was this announcement?

Parker wrote in the paper this morning that “It is understood Harrogate's artificial surface will also influence Michael Collins's decision to rest others, as he fields a team likely to be similar to the one to have played against Avenue”.

But nothing official or confirmed. Unless you can confirm differently

 

It might have been that. Just saw it been talked about that it was the kids playing so didn’t bother going

 

Simon Parker the coaward said anything about this yet?

The T & A and Simon Parker are a joke.

 

So the obvious question is, given it necessarily MUST be cheaper to promote our own youngsters from our own youth system which is already in place, in what possible sense do these discarded 'young' players from all over the country benefit us?

I mean, even remotely?

They cannot compete with a brand new National League side, who will probably struggle this season (I mean, I hope not, but they probably will), not only can they not give them a competitive game, they actually got humiliated - which, in turn, is humiliating for Bradford City.

Why in God's name are they at this club, who scouted them, who signed them, who is paying them, and WHY?

 

Trying to win games with players not fit for league football is like trying to pay for your groceries with a lottery ticket prior to the draw.

Just simply being tired of criticism doesn't make the criticism invalid.

 

Can any Stattos tell us if we have lost pre season games before, putting out what was on paper a better ream considering the choices available ie: have we lost to non league fielding quite a number of first team players.

Is the Sheffield game a better measure of where we're actually at?

Why are many of the posters who put nah! can't be bothered pre match going into apoplexy post match?
