can't agree.... a foul in a very promising area should always be a yellow, regardless of the tackle; it simply doesn't matter...

the ref was extremely inconsistent with yos cards although the actual free kicks were fine

First point is fair enough. I can see why a yellow might be fair enough since it was a promising position for us but they were two completely different incidents.

I think the ref was okay. Bit biased in our favour tbh. Surprised Stevenage didn’t get a pen at some point in the game as there was many times where the ball was bouncing around in our box an I thought it had hit a defenders arm. Halliday was unlucky with how it panned out but it was a second yellow. No arguments about that. I am glad the ref picked up on the Stevenage Left back’s throw ins. He was doing it throughout the first half but no one seemed to notice for some reason

Didn't he give a free kick for that one? I panicked at first thinking it was in the box.

I know its early doors but we’ve played 5 games at home now in the league an we’ve only conceded 1 goal (against Walsall). A solid home form is the backbone to a promotion push an I'm glad the players are stepping up to the challenge

That is a great result against a team that will be very confident given the start they had. Not a pretty performance but they all grafted that one out today. I know it wasn't free flowing domination but I really enjoyed that.

I don't know what Cook's been doing in the close season but by christ he's playing well every team in this league will be petrified of him. Listened to Evans pre match and he said something about goals from one player it's easy to know that but an entirely different thing to stop him. Wright was awesome today that's how you make a claim to start when you've been on the bench.

1st half you could see why Stevenage have done well but we stood up to it and not for the 1st time this season Lewis made the stops he had to to keep us in the game.

Thought the ref was actually OK today and was right to send Halliday off. What is nice to know is that we have Luke Hendrie to go back in the team who I would have been quite happy if he was the 1st choice. Time for him to follow Wright's example, show his quality and give Hughes a dilemma when Halliday is back.

They might be horrible, but they're a lot better than they've been the last couple of years. They troubled us first half, pressed us well, and I could see them sneaking into the playoffs

I agree. After our early goal they dominated play and we couldn't have complained if they'd equalised. Luckily, their finishing was awful and we looked very dangerous on the few occasions we were able to attack. The second and third goals were obviously decisive and it was a great win, but they are a good side and will be up there at the end of the season if they continue in similar vein.

They won't want to go up though. They'll have a load of money to shell out in return for the debentures to build the new stand! ;)

What's really making me happy is we have a squad who care as much about the result as we do. Chapman hasn't really had a mention but today he grafted his arse of to close down up top.

They're not pushovers like they have been previously but they're very one dimensional and when teams stand up to their physicality, they've got nothing else. I tell you what though, if they get playoffs, this league is even worse than I thought!

Theres always a team or two in the league two playoffs who play like that. As we know under Parky it can be very effective albeit not so pleasing on the eye. The team will have to get used to that in league 2 and work out a plan accordingly. At times we struggled and our ball retention was poor especially Halliday. Tyriek Wright has been an astute signing, has some thing our other wide options don't have and that's raw pace. Starting to make one of wide spots his own now.

Two game in a row he's looked like an 8/10. Thought Timi looked nervous at times and his positional sense wasn't the best but that will come the more he plays.
