At last. The solid reason to bring back Loyalty cards Ha ha

 

Here is an easy concept. If you are in band A, and who you travel is in band B. Why not wait till band B tickets and buy them together. We are at band D and it's not sold out yet.

 

I have more points than my mate who I travel with so have to wait until his ‘ Band’ becomes available. He is never going to catch up on points so we’re stuck with this. I always buy the tickets so why can’t friends and family be given the same points as the person who’s account is buying tickets. People on lower points are never going to catch up either. I know we have to have some systems in place but this for me is a bit of a farce.

 

Because if that was to happen one person with over 1,060 points could buy out the entire away end.

 

Btw, out of all the people who would moan if tickets were told to all bands and the same time and someone missed out who had the points available, you would be the first to moan.

As it stands I would guess that more people fit into Band D and above than tickets that are available, it's just not all these people at the moment want tickets which is why Barrow didn't sell out till it was released to season ticket holders.

 

But if your mate is in a lower band and you are worried Band A would sell out he won't get a ticket anyway, so what are you actually hoping will be achieved doing it a different way?

 

I rang the ticket office this morning. Less than 100 tickets were left and they expected to sell out today. However, they think Hartlepool will make more available if we sell out the initial allocation.

Had a bit of a chat about the loyalty scheme. Ticket office staff sound pretty naffed off with it and wish we were back with the Priority Cards. They are feeding back lots of customer complaints to senior management. Don't be surprised if this is a one season wonder (with any luck).

They also said that season ticket holders have to attend home games and get their QR card read to get the points. This flies in the face of what happened with the Doncaster game, where ST holders were given the points whether they attended or not.

 

If people have bought a season ticket, they should get the points if they go or not. The ticket has been bought. Falling ill and staying away, car breaking down, work commitments, etc don't take away the fact you paid for a ticket and if like some games last year they are using you as part of the attendance even if you are not there, then they should hand out the points.

On another note I have a friend who is a season ticket holder, has been for 30 odd years but is also a fireman, he can't pick and choose his work pattern, nor even if he was due to be off decide to leave one of the many Mill fires in Bradford to head to the ground. Loyalty plays no part in missing games.

 

Absolutely. I couldn't agree more. If you've bought a ST you should get the points for every home game. All this does is encourage ST holders who can't attend to lend their tickets to friends in order to get the points.

It's utterly hypocritical to include non-attending ST holders in the official attendance figure but not give those non-attenders the loyalty points.

It'll be interesting to see whether points get added for ST holders who can't attend the Newport game this Saturday, as they were for the Doncaster game.

 

I do not trust the people scanning the barcodes into the ground anyhow. They seem to give it a few tries and just wave you through regardless.

how are people travelling to this game given the rmt union strikes? it seems like it'll be very difficult on the train at least
