Funny how differently fans see incidents. On the Donny forum they are in general agreement that the challenge wasn't that bad and that Osadebe was very unlucky, which to be fair i can see how they come to that point of view. He got to the ball before Osadebe who was never going to win the ball, just ends getting caught by the trailing leg by the looks of it.

I noticed the stewards in the kop were facing the game, not the crowd. Thought it was meant to be the other way around? How can they let things get thrown?

A lot of aimless balls from around the halfway line, which gives the likes of Oliver very little chance to score.

This is what I mean. @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler needs to concentrate on our own fans. Some were a massive embarrassment yet again.

All up for commercial ideas but most of our fans can’t be trusted with things like that. Only one thing was going to happen and it did.

I know that annoyed me as well, it added to his “wasting time skill set” The player who the ref eventually sent off. I actually thought he was not going to leave the field of play. What would happen if he refused to leave? Abandon the match? Further penalties. It took an age to get him off, all part of the wasting more time!

Not many folk have pointed to the shots on target ratio….was it 2 out of 22?

One of the priorities in training this week has to be shooting practice. It’s been an issue with this club since the PP era

Not sure about that. Osadebe was promising. I watched him in a good passage of play on the right wing before the incident. He looked threatening. I hypothesise that Doncaster targeted him, because he was very lively. However the consequences of this were totally out of control and lead to the devastating injury. The game then turned into a World War 1 style of trench warfare. Very very frustrating.

Nah we all wanted our team to win but most don’t act like a 12 year old every pre season. However, I have a feeling you are Bradford City member of staff. A tea boy brought into to bring fake positivity every season because you can’t be that silly.

We all believe but for far too long we have seen us fail to act like a kid in a sweet shop.

Which consequences were totally out of control? there were no incidents in the first 6 minutes other than the tackle on Osadebe, which in my opinion is more unlucky than reckless. Most of the time that tackle would result in the player tackled dusting himself down and getting on with his game while the crowd talk about what a hard robust challenge it was.

Once again I will say until we get better full backs we could struggle to turn draws into wins!

Whether it was unlucky or reckless it was dangerous play and Ravenhill should have been shown the red card

Maybe we could stop punches to the head in boxing too and only jump in feet first in the diving competitions.

Are you saying that if a player picks up an injury then the player should automatically get sent off?

I agree. Halliday looks “steady” rather than “dynamic”. I also saw him coming inside to midfield to get the ball, rather than providing an outlet down the flanks. Shouldn’t be doing that.

No I say if a player dives into a tackle in a dangerous manner then it’s a sending off. I have seen many such incidents in the time I have been watching football and this was as clear a sending of as any I have seen

Every single observer will have a different view on what constitutes a 'dangerous manner'. Even if I was to concede that the challenge was dangerous yesterday then it still leaves every other challenge down to interpretation. Ultimately you won't get everyone to agree on what constitutes dangerous.

I'll say it again, if the card had been red we wouldn't be having this debate. Nobody would have disputed it or would be arguing it should have only been a yellow, not even you.

Typical opening day game I thought yesterday. Always have that feel of a slightly better friendly.
We didn’t create enough quality chances to win the match despite the stats and Donny having ten men.

Was a strong tackle that led to the broken leg but I’m a bit 50/50. Think he was just in the wrong place for the leg break and he’s unfortunate. If he lifts his leg he’s fine but his foot was planted and it’s a nasty one. Feel for Osadebe

As forCity I think we need one or both of Oliver/Angol to have a good season for us to be up there. You don’t need to be world beaters but need enough about you to win matches when it’s ugly, like yesterday and we are gonna get that every game at VP. 84 points won the league last year and with going up autos we need to aim for 80 and we will be very close.
