You weren't even there all you've seen is a slightly grainy video and jumped on the Donny defensive bandwagon that it wasn't that bad. I've no idea why you think it was his trailing leg it wasn't as he slid through he raised his right foot (studs up) and connected with Paddy's standing leg.

Look at the images below 1st one is as he made contact. Left leg (trailing) past Paddys standing leg right foot off the floor snapping his leg in two. Second image as he continues through you can clearly see that his right foot is still off the floor. Any time a player raises his studs sliding in at that speed on a wet surface like thst is dangerous he knew what he was doing there too.

Sickening for Osadebe. Hope the leg comes back stronger. Sadly we probably won’t see him this season. Shame as he had a trick and some pace.

city too slow and safe in possession. Needed to play a bit more 1 touch to move the ball at speed.

But it’s 1 game with a new side who will take a bit of time to gel. We need to expect more of those time wasting tactics. Donny were very good at that. But not much else.

Mate it never happens you know what’s coming if a team is either drawing or beating us the keeper from the 2nd half will time waste ................ and what happens the ref will give him a token yellow card in the 90th minute it’s standard in this league ................. is it so hard to give a warning straight away then book him the next time it happens ????
No not these winkers it’s 45 minutes of doing it before anything gets done

    Aye, gutted for Paddy.

I thought we missed Vernam yesterday. No pace or penetration from wide and I'm surprised we didn't change the system to bring more width after they went down to 10.

First games often show rustiness so hopefully we'll sharpen up, but I think we need to bring in a proper wide man, especially with yesterday's sickening injury ruling Paddy out for the season.

In terms of attacking threat though, I thought Oliver looked a very useful target man. If we can learn to use him properly and get Harratt in and around him, that should help us.

Oliver may, dare I say it, get better supply from Hendrie.

Have we got any updates on Osadebe?

I thought a few where a bit harsh on him considering the crosses into him where straight at the keeper :( interesting if he’s allowed game time alongside Cook who may anticipate his flick ons a lot better that the others

Your post is non-sensical and completely contradictory.

How are you prepared to leave it those that are impartial when you say we are the only fans who understand the rules?

Surely you should be educating others that it is a red card as you understand the rules.

An occasion which promised so much and delivered so little, to be remembered for time wasting antics on a scale I've not seen since the early days of watching European football.Paramount was that injury to Osadebe who was proving a really good asset for us. Recklessness which ruined the game, aided and abetted by the man in black who just couldn't find the right notes. We have to remain strong and dish it out to Barrow next Saturday. MH and the players need to use their frustrations from this week to motivate themselves for the challenge next. But all fans thoughts and best wishes are with Emmanuel right now and we wish him a speedy and successful recovery.

This discussion wouldn't even be taking place if we'd had a decent ref yesterday. If he'd just taken a few seconds to assess the situation instead of pulling out the yellow immediately, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind it would have been a red card. I doubt there'd be any disagreement about that from any of these impartial fans whose views you value so highly either.

We were toothless until Harratt came on, think spineless is harsh. Don’t think it was for want of effort or desire, just poor levels of urgency and intelligence

Just re the football, for me it was the complete lack of any pace that let us down overall, hope MH can sort it, don't believe this giving time to 'gel' carries any substance either..

I thought we hampered him massively. Our play was far too congested in the middle. The lack of width restricted his space, big time.

    Good post indeed Kevin.

Sadly as said several times Doncaster won't be the last to play like that on our ground. I appreciate they were missing something like 5 players but what should have been a great start to the season was ruined.
    * Red card offence all day long.
    * FIFA Ref complete joke, clearly had not got the memo on time wasting, unlike the Town/ Burnley ref who booked the Burnley gk without even warning him.
    * Coaching staff and Manager telling the keeper to kick it dead at our end or into the crowd all second half to waste time and applauding when he did.
    * Players going down as if shot after every contact, the Ref was well and truly mugged.
    * Off the pitch flares with flames from fans who were equally moronic as the players.
    * Directors who were apparently / seemingly so embarrassed they left without returning to say goodbye, thanks for the hospitality, etc, just ignorant and not like them so that tells you all you need to know.
But as I posted some weeks ago they are a Club with £32 million debt, kept afloat with Director's loans. Given that I think I'd be miserable with what I saw too.
Finally, for all the arguments about Ravenhill their Manager was quoted as saying he thought it was "a freak" but then tripped himself up by adding he took the lad off "...because I knew Bradford and the Ref would be looking to get him..", the only conclusions are we might kick him but far more important, the Ref realised he had made a serious error and would be looking to give a second yellow. Says it all, I hope the F.A are reviewing this.
    As for Tomlin .....

Hopefully the lad makes a speedy recovery.
To add to the debate more teams will set up to do what Donny do.. The City team will I am sure get better and can break some of these deadlocks from open play.
    What also is needed is
an individual that can deliver decent corners,; effective set piece moves from the team; and a free kick specialist that can capitalise by finding the back on free kicks around the opposition penalty. areas.
