I think you're the only person outside the Parliamentary Tory Party who believes that Johnson didn't know what was going on. It's utterly implausible. He was asked a direct question about it and denied all wrongdoing at No 10.
You'll not find me defending Blair over Iraq. I was on the marches protesting against it.

Strangely you see the resignation letter but this one has been kept hidden. That leaves more questions and speculation than releasing it.

One of the odd features of this story is that Geidt was being asked to advise not on the conduct of an individual minister, but on a decision taken by the government as a whole.
