If those 3 had signed in May when contracts offered then we may not have signed the 3 who have come in since. It was going to take very substantial offers to keep all 3 and on previous showings - were they worth it?

I think your quip about the manager is simply wrong. Whether it is PL or LG2 the skills are the same. He had Hodges and Gent who both know the lower leagues very well. Last season he didn’t panic when we were dropping like a stone, calm as you like he kept to theories and practices and gradually stopped the bus, then started it going in the right direction. Now as far as I am concerned is class, with the players he had available last season.

 

And is Watt worth a vast wage increase?

I do agree with you Fordy, I said a few weeks ago that we may not be able to buy a new squad and be getting promotion come May. The squad may need a season to take shape and gain experience before 2 or 3 quality signings next summer for the final push for automatics.

We’ve not even ended top half in a full season down here since our return, we have been a total basket case and clubs with high turn over of players and managers every season rarely get far. We finally have a manager who the fans have taken to and understands the pressures what comes with this club in league 2. But he isn’t Jesus it may take some time.

 

Div 1 clubs were meant to be after him and its Salford who do have money plus known for paying high wages in this division.

Vernam joined a div 1 club so clearly that's mainly footballing reasons.

The deals are are doing are not short term, as in 1 season. The club can't lose this season. I am sure we will improve on 14th and even if we finish 10th most of the the key players will still be here next season and we kick on again.

If we finish in the top 7 this season then bonus we aim for automatic the season after.

What I do like is that we have got rid of the Adams rubbish of not signing loans at the start of the season and we will use the loan market to improve us even more. I can understand people being optimistic but for once it seems like Bradford City does have a plan and I believe its to make sure we go up this season or next for sure.

 

Guess work on both counts, Watt would have been one of our top earners so I'll repeat you don't know he's had a vast wage increase, as for Vernam you would expect a league one club to pay players better, moving to a club nearer his wife and family, its Watts vast wage increase I'm calling you out on you don't know, the one thing you are correct on is City made an offer hoping he'd accept but knowing if he didn't the club would get money for him from the club he went to very good business on behalf of the club.

 

Because he is playing div 2 with Salford. Salford pay good wages. He hasn't joined them on reduced wages mate. Wake up!
