Epic fail? Not convinced. Underwhelming a tad perhaps.

The campaign from May - mid June hasnt been a fail. Done its job well.

 

A large part of the match day experience for many is who you attend with and the people that sit around you. Yes we are one big family. We might not all agree on all things Bradford City, but ultimately we all want the same thing.

 

I must agree regarding the marketing for STs seems as though it could and should of been much better, but having thought about it now I'm wondering If they've known this all along but let it ride and gambled on us having a great season thus cashing in on pay on the days or maybe even have a match day ticket deal up their sleeve for monthly bulk buys perhaps?

 

It's been a really tough day today with it being father's Day and me only renewing my ticket. I've been a bit arsey lately and apologise if I've come across like that. Hopefully under Hughes now we can see light at the end of the tunnel.

 

Time is a great healer mate, I am sure you will find new people to enjoy match day with. A great season with lots of wins will help.

Hey Rog I know how you feel. My Mum used to come to games and the kids loved coming with her. Bit of a family day out then she passed away (2011), the kids lost interest and I have attended alone since. Was strange at first but you do get used to it. There is a good group around me that chat shit n stuff ask @Aleman

Glad you have bought a ST this season. Hopefully you will buy one next when we are in League 1.

Personally having thought about this, I think it could be a bit of a master plan by the club regarding signings this week. Let the ticket deadline pass quietly while still keeping people interested. Wouldn’t be surprised if a couple sign tomorrow, thus urging the undecided people to buy the tickets but at the inflated price, more money in the coffers. Or maybe I’m just talking rubbish

 

Whether intentional or just as a result of a last minute decision to renew, I don't know, but maybe not sitting in the same seat will save you the constant reminder that you're no longer with those you used to go to VP with. Glad you'll be joining us all again

You'll find your own path in time and there's no need to apologise. It takes time to go through all the firsts and time is a great healer.

My dad passed suddenly and out of the blue a month before the first lockdown in February 2020. I had to wait a year and a half to return to VP - alone - after a lifetime of going with my old man. The anticipation to the first return wasn't great but new routines are born and he sure as anything wouldn't want me to stop going - nor I'm sure would your dad.

The last time I actually saw my dad was the 3-0 defeat away at Mansfield under Bowyer, and up until a day or two before the away game at the start of last season I refused to think about returning to Mansfield. I did though and a late Cook winner made it worthwhile - I like to think my Dad was looking over us that day.

 

He has, I can read in to where he's at....

 

I didn't want my words to come across as a cry for help but i really do appreciate the messages i've read on here. I've struggled with life for a fair few years and the football with my lad and the chat on here has been a constant source of comfort as has the chats with bronco where try to put the world to rights and fail miserably lol. Its been said a lot across social media and TV but if anyone is struggling please don't struggle alone.

I was recently not too dissimilar, I've just renewed ours first time in 4 years, when me and my lad were coming previously I was bringing my disabled dad to games and dragging the young un along kicking and screaming, shortly after our last season dad unfortunately passed away, the will to buy a ST after was drained out of me, dad was gone, club were struggling, my lad had to be bribed to come along and to add to that I'm far from local.
I was shocked and quietly well happy when my lad now 17 recently asked if we could get STs again for this upcoming season, against my better judgement he didn't need to ask twice. If I'm honest the thing that does make me always smile is that my lad was born in Blackburn which is my wifes home town and during our time of going to football matches we've been to Liverpool games a good few times, tons of Blackburn games as his footy team provided ball boys so we went free whenever we wanted, we've recently moved to Cliviger in Burnley right on the border (I'm inching home lol) with Yorkshire and I've also got lots of Burnley fans friends so we've also been to lots of their games too as I get quite a few free tickets through work, but despite these other better options my lad has he still chooses to go watch City

 

I renwed in EXJ some weeks ago.

I only went to 4 or 5 games last season, due to spending lots of time in Belgium and fear of Covid crowds. So my seat was often empty. I meet a few mates on North Parade pre-match but they all go in the Kop.

Maybe I'll move back a few rows to sit with an old friend who has developed some serious mobility issues, if there are seats directly from lifts avoiding steps.

But a ST at City is based on social meeting, optimism for good football and success, not just habit. I could easily see at least a couple of good signings re-launching ST interest after the discount deadline.

I have the optimism for next season.
