I suspect that if any of Vernam, Watt or Paudie were going to be signed as regular starters at a division above that they would have been signed by now. That they haven't suggests to me that they have a choice to make between squad player at a level higher or first choice at City.

The longer the wait the more I suspect they will resign. Think a contract offer has a minimum of a month to be accepted.

 

I suppose technically they have until their old one expires?

 

I think Watt will want to play as high as he can. If he's got aspirations of breaking into a Champ team he's got to be playing higher up against better players. Personally I like him and I think he could go on that journey with us but he may want to move up quicker it's a gamble for him though. He isn't ready for the Championship yet and he needs to think about where he will get the best chance to develop and play.

 

We don't know that they haven't, it might be that they have but their new club hasn't announced it yet. Or they may have resigned for us and we haven't announced it yet - who knows?
There is probably nothing in this at all, but given the 'Our sweet, sweet prince' tweets from the club about Vernam at the end of last season, could it be that he had already agreed to stay at that point, and they've just been waiting to announce it until this jubilee weekend?

 

McCann at Peterborough is apparently wanting to bring him in.

 

I would think the club have a very good idea of what's happening with regards the likes of Vernam, Watt and Paudie futures, who's to say they haven't resigned and the club will make the announcements over the next couple of weeks to help season ticket sales.

 

You would think , if they are moving elsewhere something might have been said or leaked by now.

More proof that our Darragh loves the club and is just biding his time before taking over, he wants Watt as part of his City team.

Just wish Rupp would lower his ridiculous asking price so we could get Darragh in now.

 

Not overly keen on Rupp's tenure of the club. Nothing but regression since he took over.
But how do we know his asking price is ridiculous. There have been rumours of £10 million , but that is all they are, rumours.
He will eventually move on, as all owners do, We won't get to know then either.

 

Not bothered if Watt leaves as he is an average player who works hard but gives the ball away much to often, Easily replaced and would not go overboard to keep him

You are probably correct.
I just get annoyed at people calling for Rupp to sell up . We all thought he would take the club forward. The grass is not always greener and the next owners could be worse.

 

So what is the asking price?

 

But if it's year on year regression, why wait until the club is non league, (or even worse!) before trying to force a sale from the owner?

It just doesn't make sense to worry about what comes next if by the time you decide we should gamble there isn't even a club left to worry about!

 

How do you force this sale? Protest , non attendance at matches. it is his business and will be until he has an agreement in place, that satisfies his needs, not ours. We have had this type of owner, for as long as i can remember . We would all love someone to come in with pots of cash, but on that note i give you Salford and Wrexham . Not always a guarantee of success.

 

Where did I say I wanted dinnertime to splash the cash? I didn't.

I don't want Rupp out because I think there's a sugar daddy around the corner. I want Rupp out because of what has been happening in front of our very eyes.
