Neither was he on Spark's wanted list

 

Hughes did great things at Blackburn -had them in Europe. Their fans would definitely welcome him back.

I hope they have someone else in mind!

 

There are plenty of our fans who would have McCall back.
It’s nearly always the lazy option.

 

I’m sure there are other viable options for them but Hughes had never managed outside of the PL before coming here and they are a Championship club and produced some of their best results since Kenny Dalgleish was there. Their fanbase has been fractured over Mowbray for years and many would view Hughes as a man to galvanize. Obviously I hope he stays here to progress the job he’s started but I totally get why his name would be mentioned.

 

We’re going to have this speculation hanging over us whilst he’s here. We can only hope he’s enjoying the chore of league two travel, facilities, budget and referees. At least long enough to get us on the right footing. What he’s done with those same players as Adams had is night and day. If he gives us a full season then we’ll be a treat to watch.

Well for what it's worth I've just moved out of Blackburn having lived there 17yrs over to Cliviger on outskirts of Burnley jus over the Motherland border my wifes from Blackburn and all our family on her side are big Rovers fans, I work with and have loads of friends who are Rovers so I end up regularly involved in conversations about them, and I can safely say I've not heard MH name mentioned once apart from on here.

 

What I've heard is that the Venky's tend to use the same agents over and over, one I've heard of is called HSH, and the posters on one Rovers forum are worried they'll be utilised again. They do have Mark Robins on their books, which would be a good appointment.

There's minimal mention of Hughes on there, with most fans wanting someone like Farke or Dyche, while thinking Ainsworth is more realistic, but I guess they'd be worried someone like Pulis would get the job.

I've read they don't want to pay compensation for anyone, which would theoretically rule Ainsworth & Robins (and Hughes) out, but there really isn't any talk about Hughes going to Blackburn. Some fans are mildly curious to see how he gets on here now that he's no longer backed by his old assistants and, quote, 'with it all to do', but that's about it.

The possibility of Farke going to Ewood Park looks to have excited the support base.

 

Might be a wild guess but I think Gareth Ainsworth is being lined up for the Blackburn job

 

He was the early favourite, but we all know what that means!

 

I'm confident enough to say If MH was in any way at all a genuine target for BR true or not I 100% would at least of heard the rumour from a solid creditable source. Yes yes I know he wasn't our target before being appointed and all that but you get my point.

 

Ainsworth is Wycombe through and through, He will end his career there I would have thought

 

If Rupp was offered compensation money for Hughes how confident are you he would not take the money ?

 

I don’t think he’d really care-he’d leave it to Ryan and it’d be weighed up against the cost of replacing Hughes and staff

 

Sounds like Hughes has been actively involved in bringing in the new chap, Gent. Reading the articles today it sounds like we have a strong team of three now with Ryan supporting. I don't think Hughes is going anywhere in the short term, he's excited about building a team and trying to get promoted next season. It would have to be something stupid like Man United tapping him up for him to leave in the next couple of months.

 

Please stop all this talk about Hughes leaving and stop panicking!
Hughes will go nowhere, he's here for a long time yet, hell he's building something here that he will want to see through.
Only when his contracts up can we start this scare mongering - calm down!!!!!

 

If he's half as successful as Parky I'll take that, not bothered about the easy stuff like getting to Wembley I'll take league one football in season 2023/24.

 

He was born in Blackburn though. Did he support them I wonder?

 

Played for the youth team and was released (by Don MacKay?) at 18. Broke his heart apparently.
