Where’s this come from?

 

I am not sure if Gordon Gibb has any sway on the rent charged. its Flamingo land employee's pension fund that owns the ground. The trustee's of said fund are obliged legally to raise as much return as possible. Would you take a cut to your possible pension return to help out a league 2 football club

 

Love the username by the way, have you just joined today to get that off your chest or are there other ulterior motives ?.

 

I'm sure if Gibb was happy to sponcor us there would be ways and means of making sure it does not effect the money going into the pension fund.

 

That would be great Dave but i will believe it when i see or hear it from the horses mouth. I have never trusted these so called business men.

Just responding after reading the article. I just think we can do better than Ryan. If I was Rupp I'd want to know why Sparks hadn't approached Mark Hughes? And why his application ended up in Sparks' bin. The sinister comment about the bottle placers "message was clear" cries of playing the victim which sadly seems to be the way these days with people not up to the job.

 

Mark Hughes would not have been on Sparks radar , or any other lower league CEO 's contacts. He had been out of football for almost four years, will be a wealthy man and has shown no interest in any club during that time..
So why would Sparks approach him. Did anyone think Mark Hughes would be our manager? No is the answer to that.

 

Any other ex- Premier League/International managers you think Sparks should have approached as well as Hughes? Zinedine Zidane perhaps?

 

What a silly comment. No-one expected Mark Hughes, it came as a shock. Therefore no-one would expect Ryan to have approached him.

 

Why not aim high? That's what I'd insist from my employees. And guess what Mark Hughes is manager of Bradford City. Sorry I'm not one who is content with 2nd best or just happy to have a club to support.

 

Gordon Gibb is a trustee of the fund and if rent can go up it can come down. However as @Bronco said he could get advertising for his business round the ground

Approach the best out of work managers and see if they are up for the challenge of awakening this sleeping giant. Five minute call and you'd know if you had a chance or not.

 

There is accepting 2nd best and not aiming high and being efficient, honest and realistic. Would you accept your employees signing contracts you couldn't afford as a business?

 

When you have no business would you be happy whilst employees wasted their time on fanciful projects whilst the business suffered?

Couple of days to go through that list. But I'd obviously rule out a few of them. How long does it take to dream up and speak about Jussie Smollett style attacks?

 

In my 40+ years of watching Bradford City, I don't think i have come across one fan that will accept second best or is a happy clapper.
We all want the same thing. A football club that progresses on and off the playing field and to be entertained at the same time.
One major stumbling block is that , there are 23 other teams in your league and over 100 professional clubs and their fans all wanting the same thing.
Success in football is a hard thing to achieve. It does not always take money, but it helps. Parkie's squad was built for a pittance. Its getting the balance right and all your ducks in a row, as the saying goes.

 

The last three games I have seen a improvement. Even Gilhead seems to have a role now. The management duo appear to be getting the best out of a demoralised bunch so I am happier now than three weeks ago. We are in a win win situation here Hughes/Hodges wants to prove the premier world wrong and on top of that they both have a good tactical brains. Lets wait and see but its looking okay....
