Yes essentially, I'd like to make clear that I don't think we are the unequivocal good guys in this. Again, I think Ukraine joining NATO is a needless provocation of Russia, however it isn't for Russia to dictate to another sovereign country how to run it's foreign policy.

 

Talk of going after Putin as a war criminal which I'd love to see as it should mean we would go after the likes of Blair and Bush.

 

We can never go after Bush or indeed any citizen of the USA because they do not allow any citizen to be charged, They do not accept the role of the International Criminal Court so charges of war crimes cannot be used against American Politicians or military

 

Team America World police. But only when it suits them.

 

Mind-boggling mate Putin before the International Criminal Court that'll show him, but as we know it will never happen.

 

Every source of news comes with bias whether from east or west at the end of the day it is the political view of who writes the news that is broadcast or written, We are all subject to disinformation but believe the ones that tie in with our own beliefs and views. Aljazeera seems to be the more balanced and informed station on the war reporting with more reporters on the ground

 

I think we've got more chance of signing putin as a backup centre forward for city than getting him to the hague. I don't even think he would really care that much if he did get charged as a war criminal to be honest, in his mind nothing he's doing is any worse than the actions of the west in other regions

Yes they can extradite any person from the UK to the USA for trial but the US does not recognise extradition of its own citizens to be tried

 

When Iraq invaded Kuwait Bush and his poodles couldn't wait to send his armies on a vacation to the Middle East. But Iraq didn't have the toys that Vlad had at his disposal. Didn't the US spend something like 750 billion on their military last year yet Ukraine is left to rot.

 

Look at the complete bollocks that we were told to justify those excursions into the Middle East. "Liberation not invasion", "we'd be welcomes with open arms", "WMD's deployed in 45 minutes" or whatever it was.

It's almost a carbon copy of what the Russians are being told at the moment - except even Vlad hasn't been mental enough to make up the WMD stuff.

I have no doubt that the Russian propaganda machine is in full flow but lets not be quite so gullible to believe it's only the Russians that get lied to.

 

There's always two sides to propaganda, we never get the truth because there is no truth. There is clearly more behind this war than just an apparent madman dictator. I certainly don't agree with what Putin has done but then I vehemently disagreed with the conflicts we as a nation took part in on the basis of 'liberation.'

 

Whilst what’s going on in Ukraine needs to stop ASAP, any of the NATO members have no room to play any moral high ground after NATO themselves killed over 2,500 civilians in the Yugoslavian War, as well as a whole hoard of civilian deaths in Libya, off the top of my head.

If you can’t practice what you preach your stance has no weight.

 

So according to Aljazeera speaking to the peace negotiators from both sides this is the position of each side,
Russia is demanding the Ukraine cede Crimea to the Russian Federation, Declare the Donbass as independent states, cease all military action immediately. Agree never to join Nato,

The Ukrainian conditions is that they refuse to talk on matters unless the Russian forces withdraw totally from Ukrainian territory.

Various factors have led to this point. But maximum respect to the Ukrainian people for the resilience they're showing. Fighting like Lions.

Its going to go south quickly. Even more so if Ukraine's application to join the EU is accepted.

 

I agree they also invaded a country on false pretences. Instead Blair is a rich man who still has people clapping like seals when he mentions the tories or Brexit. No world leader would ever be brought to these trials not of a truly powerful nation anyway, it’s posturing at best. Feel free to arrest Putin, as long as you can get through his army and nuclear Arsenal first.

 

We mere plebs live in a world where I'd like to think we value the life of others. To people like Putin, Bush and Blair and the like we are expendable nobodies in their pursuit of fame power and wealth.
Remember, primarily war is fought by young men sent to to die by rich folk not wanting to do the dirty work for their blood stained wealth. This conflict just adds more of those young men's grave stones to the thousands already in existence.
