Who'd walk into our side, you don't get a goal return of 14 in 27 games by being Mr Nice guy take the constant bitching away and I thought he was very good on the day.

    I agree entirely.
It wasn’t a criticism as such.More on his manner and demeanour. He was having a bit of banter with some fans sat just in front of me and was giving as good as he got.
I posted on Friday how I thought his odds of 9/4 to score anytime was very generous for an in form player who was scoring goals and I had a very nice return on my bet I placed on him.

Shows just how poor the linesman are, but at least they were consistent.
Cook got little support from any of the officials yesterday regards challenges from Swindon central defenders.

He's got a bit of history apparently - goading fans (both away and home) and bigging it up on social media. But at the end of the day, he's 24 and that's how they are these days. Seeing his comments and love for Chelsea, I don't think he's the most loyal of Swindon players, and will definitely jump at the chance of playing higher, which I'm sure he can do. Probably will have a good career if a manager does a "Fergie" on him and gets rid of some of the attitude. He pretty much ran the show each time he got the ball - coming very deep and then playing very direct. No wonder Foulds looked so bad.

Anyway - same old story. Fans walking away saying we looked better and deserved not to lose. Unfortunately we did. Like the new Leeds manager strangely said yesterday, "its not about the points but the performance"......but at the end of the day, I'm sure we'd all prefer a bad performance and three points. You get relegated due to lack of points, nothing more nothing less.

You did and I actually quoted that to my grandson as he was looking to put an acca together I said 9/4 were good odds for a lad who's having a good season, will he be a one season wonder, great he was giving if and taking it from fans.

Yes, one of those Stan Bowles type players Dave. One would get kicked into row B years ago. Highly frustrating to the opponent, yet one you would want on your side.

One thought ..as a professional footballer on the field of play…..a highly effective scruffy two hat!

Will have to agree to disagree. Full of heart, but poor on the ball, positionally poor, poor discipline. If we're going to succeed next season, assuming we stay up, then it'll need the likes of Paudie to be back up players.

Very similar to Bradley Dack with regards always wanting the ball and prepared to wind the opposition team and fans up.
And as you say both scruffy two hats, looks like Jack Payne is getting "the look" didn't he have jet black hair when he was at Southend, Town and during his loan with us, his time with us was not his best but Id take him in our midfield.

He gets no help from refs at any match he isn’t clever enough he lunges into defenders instead of letting them do it to him Robinson is just the same oh for somebody with a bit of football nous like stead or Peter Thorne

He was arguably the best player on the pitch yesterday. Had Foulds on toast when given a chance to run at him.

A Tony McMahon type player would have had him in his pocket. Yapping away, giving him a dig, taking a yellow etc. Foulds didn't have the experience or quality to handle it. One of the more experenced players should have helped him out. Trouble is at the moment they are mostly bothered about getting their own game together.

I hope not. I like Bass, I think yes he makes mistakes but all of them do at this level. Would rather we kept going with him than bring O’Donnell back.

McCurdy was a handful. Moaned loads and tried a couple of swan dives. Pain in the arse but a threat. The exact type of player we lack.

Loads of people have criticised Foulds and assuming you're aware he was playing in defence then my quote of " the defence was a disaster zone" also includes him.

Bass also gets the criticism because despite a couple of very good saves he had a rush of blood and ultimately cost us the game.

Hendrie? He's better than Threlkeld. That's about the kindest compliment I could give but right back is certainly an area we need an accomplished signing in during the summer.

Ordinarily I would agree about points over performance but as Walsall away showed points can mask so much. Green shoots and performance promises more for the rest of the season. We wanted change, and this shows it. The points attitude got us Adams as manager

You would have to say a much improved performance yesterday and a long way better than recent performances. However, still massively frustrating - not just the last second penalty. Arguably, that shouldn’t have mattered we had that many chances. Clearly much better set up and more motivated but lack of quality at both ends remains huge concern. Having said that we have who we have now and the improvements need to keep coming. There may be quite a few teams below us, but a few points are required soon to steady the nerves.
On another point, Hughes after match interview was very balanced. You could just imagine Adams calling out Bass individually if he was still here couldn’t you? Sure, it was a bad error, but he made a great save not long before it.
Plenty of work still to do, but improvements clear I think.

Ha, interesting game yesterday. Firstly I got quite a bit of grief for wearing my United jacket which I wasn't expecting! Some of it wasn't friendly banter either!

I've never been to a league 2 game before so I wasn't sure what to expect but it was actually fairly entertaining. I thought you guys that had the better of the game but Swindon look like they had a bit more quality if that makes sense? I wasn't surprised that they nicked the win.

For me your number 29 and number 17 were your best players and I thought they always looked like they might make something happen. It was a good job your midfield and forwards were on it because your defence looked all over the shop. Your number 4 and left back in particular, thankfully you were good at the odd last ditch effort otherwise you could have conceded a few.

I also thought your number 18 had a shocker in midfield, after 8 minutes I looked at the time on the scoreboard because I'd already noticed him giving the ball away 4 times and he didn't get much better.

I was really surprised by the behaviour of some of your fans, I was in the JCT600 Family Stand and there were lots of teenage lads around just pissing about, clearly no interest in the game. Smoking/vaping, spitting and also videoing themselves trying to break the seats although none of them had the actual balls to go through with it. If that's the norm I'm a bit surprised some of your older fans haven't sorted them out, I know that's what happened at United when there's been kids behaving like that.

My lads 12 I've often thought he might end up wanting to come and watch you guys with his mates once they start going themselves but I'd be a bit uneasy about it after that.

I did wait around a bit at the end see if there's any chance of meeting Hughesy. I wasn't really sure where to wait so that suggestion given before about and going to your training ground seems like a better idea, maybe I'll take the lad down in the holidays.

McKirdy certainly was something a bit different, rarely see an attacking threat playing that wide, the first half just hogging the midland road touchline.
Williams on the other side was a threat too but their new number 9 looked about as good as our non scoring forwards.
Thought City had plenty of chances but Swindon had more attempts and double our number of efforts on target which surprised me.

Ironic that a Man Utd fan comes on here and has a go at some of our young fans for their behaviour and also bemused that older fans didn't sort them out.

Ironic?, why, you are probably thinking. Let me enlighten you.

The last time we hosted Man Utd back in our Premiership days, many of your middle aged fans acted disgracefully. They were jumping into what was the family section in the Kop and smashing women and kids in the face. I had to drag my then 11 year daughter out of the way of the thugs.

So please don't come on here with your holier than thou attitude when your lot are the worst behaved fans I've ever seen at Valley Parade.
