Mark Hughes - NEW POLL

My gran used to live across the road from Kiplings. Decent food. If having a takeaway, nip into the Albion for a quick pint while waiting. There was another just up the road too, kebaboosh or something. Always full.

 

There’s a pub next door to kiplings now. Plus I always found if collecting go wait and have a pint at kiplings. Usually get it for free! Loyal customer and all

 

Ah cheers that’s useful to know. Whenever ive been down there ive tended to go via Idle, over Leeds Road, then over the bridge to George and Dragon to cut out that junction. Hope they get it sorted soon. As WHO said, nice curry there isn’t it. I remember they made an effort with the kids too, which is always a plus!

Is n't Hughes nickname Sparky after a comic character? Or is this how this distraction started (sorry CBA reading back).

Yes you are right about his nickname. Got this from Google. So named after a “ comic” dog!

Hughes was a youngster growing up in Wrexham when he and several friends decided to name themselves after comics. And, as Hughes was one of the more robust members of the group, he got christened 'Sparky' after a comic which regaled readers with stories about a bulldog bearing the same name!24 Oct 2005

 

If the meal doesnt turn up or at best turns up late and cold then yeh, its a crap meal at that very point in time....

He may well be talented but thats no good if his head isnt in the game or his legs are made of weetabix.

Oh and in the vast vast majority id say 75% of our signings are dross....clue, a relegation and 3 years of L2 mediocrity.

Only read a portion of the thread but I can see this has probably had the desired and intended season ticket reaction.

My immediate reaction was thanks City for distracting me from the horror that is Ukraine.

My next reaction was WTF - when did he last manage, he hasn't managed outside of the PL, can he play up front instead of Cook.

I'm trying not to be cynical and will hold off starting the Sparky out thread for a good six months if others can agree to the same.
