    Other worry with this and what happened after Saturdays match is I gather Canavan was popular in the dressing room and the impact this might have on the other players

    I don't know about investing it in the summer. Canavan's fee will simply pay for the loss of 200 full price STs once the money drops that we won't be promoted this season. Imo, that will be a small proportion of those who won't put up with any more false promises coming out of VP for next season.

    It’s not just vision. And its not even just that we’re lacking in ambition - though we are. I think we’re being outright bullsh*tted. I’ve thought it for a while and it’s why I didn’t renew my ST after 30 years of having one.

    True. But he’s also one of the best 2 centre halves we had - which says a lot. Letting him go now, without a replacement, on the basis that he only had 6 months left and wouldn’t be getting another deal, tells you everything you could possibly want to know about:

    A) How this club is managed.
    B) The real outlook that the club has for the remainder of the season.

    So we go for the diet version of a DoF with Turnbull as part of a "vision", then Adams comes along and doesn't want that, so the club scraps that entire idea so that Adams gets to instil his own recruitment team which has resulted in....this :joy:

    Adams has no excuse here unless he comes out and says he's been given no financial support. Oldham away is ever so close!

    It’s potentially another shambles of a window but let’s be honest, Canavan has been half the player he was last season. For a captain he doesn’t lead nor inspire. If we can get someone with pace I’d be happy.

    It still weakens our very weak back line!

    How many clean sheets have we kept?

    The right back Threlkeld is dire. Ridehalgh is okay. Paudie is decent. Now what? Fiacre is very poor, Songo'o is a poor centre back, we literally need someone to come in and be our best defender.

    We have 1 hour.
