Interesting tonight one of our January signings scored a goal to help us win the match the other saved us two points

Very pleased for Matty Foulds tonight, made a difference to the energy levels when he came on

And to be fair to Adams i thought his interview tonight was honest and accurate (unlike some of his recent pie in the sky efforts)

 

Matty Foulds is very unfortunate to be shadowing Ridehalgh he looks a good player and in my opinion would be better than Threlkeld on the other side

 

Just about a week left of the window, how many of the 1st team squad can we get rid of? Expecting ROD and Evans to leave and 1 of Robinson or Lavery. I wouldn’t be surprised if Vernam leaves too. I know he’s not Beagrie but too often I think he is the most likely to create anything, so it seems to me that Adams simply doesn’t rate him too highly. I can’t see anything materializing for Watt. But I’m sure if the first 2 leave, it will free a bit up for a striker.

 

I think DA said there’s been no offers for our players. He said anything can happen on the last day however.

 

Of course it’s on loan.

 

Adams says a lot of things I don’t believe but on this I can believe him.

 

I just can't see anyone taking Evans, Robinson, Watt or Lavery they are not good enough for league two or National league and we will be paying them more than anyone else would be willing to.

I see Telford at Newport has been absent with an “injury”. Wonder if he’s lined up to leave. Not to Bradford City of course. I’m slightly concerned he’ll go higher, as I’ve got a tenner on him at 12/1 to be the divisions top scorer!

 

If Lee Turnbull brought Lavery and Robinson in, with him taking ROD to Hartlepool, maybe he can take more off our hands?

He's spat his dummy out it seems from the Newport fans. It was very public from the start of the window that Wrexham wanted him, safe to say he wanted the move for the pay increase but Newport apparently slapped a silly price tag on him. Especially when he's out of contract in the summer too, seems daft to turn down that money when there's a good chance he'll leave in the summer.

Sounds like Newport might be having a bit of money trouble too, think they are banking on promotion.

 

People need to stop taking Adams words for face value, not a chance he signed all those players.

What's does he gain by saying "Turnbull signed him, him and him" ? It just creates a separation in the squad and those players know they weren't in the managers plans to begin with. The answer at the forum was the only logical one to give, takes the responsibility on and says its his squad. Publicly puts everyone on a level and puts a line under it.

He's old school, not everything he says is truthful. You can probably go through his press conferences and he'll contradict himself 20 times over the last month. Even last night, he rejected that there's been an approach for any of our players even though I'm 99% sure we'll see Hartlepool announce ROD today or tomorrow.

 

We still need a RB, non of this playing Foulds or Sutton here nonsense an actual RB! Just listened to the podcast with Sparks on and Forest Green came up and the importance of their full backs, I genuinely think if we had a decent set of full backs it’d make a huge difference. It’s also throwing Threlkeld under the bus a bit imo as he’s played most his career in midfield who knows he may actually do well if he played there, we need to stop shoehorning players in, it’s been a trait regardless of manager since Parky left for some reason.

 

Just watching sky sports news and the stats panel that rotates down the panel for the PL. Most touches in the league, Cancelo with over 2,300 and Trent AA with just shy of 2000. Next two are defenders also.

Top tacklers, on adverts now but 3 of the top 5 were full backs. It's gone from a position nobody wants to fill to now being the most important on the pitch at the highest level. And that style does drip down and fans want to see a nice style, that builds from the back. Really important slots to look at.
