Perhaps he could give back some of the rumoured £300k a year he takes out of the club to spend on players and Sparks not employing more media and ancillary staff than we have players

The ancillary staff won't be on much and are important in pushing the club forward with things like social and digital media. Sparks isn't the problem here, he's trying to build a base to work from. But that self sustainability will only go so far.

Hang on. You asked if it was possible he could have behaved in that way and I've explained "yes, it could". You're being overly defensive now. Just step back and try to be more balanced.

It's hard to give examples of his behaviour. We haven't seen him for months/years and in all the time he's owned the club he's hardly said owt. You do realise that, right?

He actually needs to engage more. Nothing drastic. Why not write in the programme once a quarter or in the new newsletter? Why not do a "ask the owner" every 6 months or something? Even if questions were submitted in advance and he answered the ones he wanted at least he'd be engaging in some small way!

You can't gives examples of the behaviours of a hermit!

The ride to the premiership was fantastic , no one can deny that. If only big Geoff's ego had not got in the way at the end of the first top flight season.
Would i give up the premier league seasons, Yes for a club that has not been on its arse ever since and does not own anything, That £8000 per week rent over the past 20 years or £8 million + , could have been re-invested and we could be in a lot better state than we are now, a positon where we historically have been.
Hindsight is a wonderfull thing. The next custodian of this club , might not be any better unless we get an uber fan with pots of cash he/she does not care less about. We can only dream. As a side note, i am no lover of Herr Rupp, but it's his business and he runs it as he see's fit, whever we like it or not.

Unfortunately unless we have an owner will to throw money at it. Sustainability is the only way. We haven’t had one in the past or likely to have a credible one in the future. We need to do a lot better with the resources we do have

So having around 40 ancillary staff ( Not Playing staff ) is not a drain? at £10k each ( cheap ) we are looking at £400k and it is still expanding with another post been created this week,

We did have an owner that threw money at it.

He got us to the Premier League.

Sad , sad days for Bradford City. Hope gone, dreams destroyed. Business as usual with a uninterested owner and D - CEO and his friends in the media who discredit any group with ambition. Same old, same old at BD8. Depressing

Until we reached the premiership he ran the club frugally remember him selling Eddie Youds at Christmas to make ends meet and not making a signing for three months at the start of season before brining in a couple of loans from the continen

Sustainability should be applauded but not at the expense of investment. If your strategy is sustainability over everything else then that should be explained to your paying customers who can then decide if what they are actually paying for is worth the money.

Can't agree with that, the season we went up we spent a fair chunk on wages and transfers. We certainly didn't go up on a sustainable budget.

The club needs a workforce. Can't be successful off the pitch with what we had two or three years ago. Literally a skeleton staff.

Some money was spent after the Rhodes got involved but he didn’t put any of his own money in

The key is if the workforce is productive and as it appears our finances are improving it seems they are. We now need to see the same competency on the football side of things

Nobody said it was his own money. The club spent a lot of money that season, it wasn't on a shoestring budget.

It wasn't productive before Sparks took control, there weren't even things like performance indicators or sales targets. It wasn't even running as a professional outfit. Sparks has lifted that side of things with little or no input from Rupp and should be acknowledged for it.

Mills £1m, Rankin £1.3m, Deano £1m, Whalley £600,000, Stuart McCall from Rangers on a free, I doubt Lee Sharpe's loan was cheap.

That's some serious investment for the time, and most of those transfers were pushing club record fees.

But Richmond's whole tenure saw him spending a lot of money, I remember the Division 2 days when Kamara just brought in an endless stream of foreign players, some good, some useless, but compare that to now when the discussion is all about how a normal free transfer for a local player isn't cheap and you can see we WERE spenders.

Nobody is disagreeing with that Rupp doesn’t get involved in the day to day running of the club he now leaves that to Sparks. Who is running the club the way it has been run in the past self sufficiently. The progress off the field will we hope transfer to the football side with more money available.
There is very little money about I. Lower league football the successful sides are the ones who use it wisely. It can’t be argued that season has been more than disappointing whith criticism rightly due to Adams and also Turnbull. The former is proven at this level and we have to give him time to turn it round

We ran at a deficit (owners word nobody else’s) during Lawn and Rhodes era, that isn’t sustainability as you’re running at a loss which we made up for in player sales and cup runs. But to get player sales and cup runs you need to invest in some quality in the first place which we aren’t doing. Before that we had the admin era and before that Richmond. Sorry which of these was anything like now as you claim?

All fair comment, after reading Stefan's statement he needs to loosen the purse strings and give Adams more financial help with regards the January window, this season was built on promotion change of home strip to White etc, we still have a chance of making the play off's but as I say a little more help may convince many Stefan is also behind this promotion push.
