Its fans like Park who helped to keep this club going during the bleak years of the 60's and dark days of administration and near bankruptcy

For most of its history, America was a desert populated by native Americans with bows & arrows. Pretty sure they wouldn't be happy to go back to that.

Agree with all of that. And some are seeing ML as some sort of saviour.

As for for the forum, I’d say there is little chance of it happening in mid January with a live audience

I just want fans to show some passion and ambition instead of this tedious ‘it is what it is’ attitude. How have the likes of Coventry, MK Dons, Bolton etc all bounced straight back up all with arguably similar resources.

The club is broken and we need to demand more, yes we may have sat idly round the lower leagues for most parts but we need to be atleast top end league 1 or championship. The club is much different to what it was in the 60s with fan base and stadia.

So no I’m not a snowflake, I’m a driven person in work life that gets on with anything thrown at me and I just want my football club to do the same, no nonsense no Mr nice guy and become winners.

I agree with some of your points but to point towards a lack of due diligence from Lawn and Rhodes is unfair. If there is one thing Rahic did that was talk a good game. Rupp was clearly taken in by him, I think most of us were glad to see some new and ambitious owners with some good plans. Who doesn’t like the sound of investment in youth and facilities and talk of the premier league? Rahic’s ideas were probably right but he was obviously incapable of implementing it.

If most of us had been in Lawn’s and Rhodes’ shoes in the spring of 2016 we would have done exactly what they did.

Yes, I agree. Most of us would have done the same. Rahic convinced Lawn and Rhodes, just as he convinced Rupp, that he knew what he was doing. And Rupp clearly had the means to take the club further than they could. It's not Lawn and Rhodes' fault that, having presided over a decline, Rupp is choosing not to use any of his means to remedy his mistake.

Rupp owes us, and he's not delivering.

Why should he ? Did Lawn ever put his own money in on a non returnable basis ? No they were all loans.

Rhodes might have messed up, but at least he risked his money to keep us going even though he couldn't do it to progress us.

Rupp is a reluctant owner, he isn't here to progress us, just to ensure he doesn't lose anymore money and there is no requirement for him to invest further.

People need to understand we have no right to expect him to put his own money in to move us on. If he sold shares to do it how many on here would invest ?

    I wouldn't.

I assume that ML & JR did their own due diligence for their own protection. And that is usually sufficient. BUt they could have done things differently as the Pompey Supporters Trust did when they sold Pompey. When they realised they needed an owner with deeper pockets that their own to take the club forward, they attached conditions to the sale. These included specific improvements to Fratton Park and to increase the playing budget to get Pompey promoted from League 2. And that was accepted by Eisner and it has happened.

But sellers don't get something for nothing. The Pompey owners sold the club including the ground to Eisner for £5.5m, a price similar to what R&R paid for our club without a ground around the same time. I suspect however that without the sale conditions relating to the ground refurbishment and a commitment to increase the playing budget, Eisner may well have paid more than he did. Reading that across to the sale of our club, had ML & JR imposed conditions on the sale, R&R would have paid less and that would have hit ML&JR in their pockets

I'm happy to accept that but you have to question, why on earth would he have bought the club in the first place?

If he simply wanted a return on investment then football is the very last place you're looking into.

I'm not making excuses for him but I suspect he was duped by Rahic and finished up with us.

Rahic once said that the Championship in terms of revenue, is the 5th or 6th richest league in Europe which is true and that by getting promoted (en route to the PL of course!) we would share in that. But he completely misread the real position. The riches of the Championship aren't shared equally, far from it. As any owner of a Championship club would know, the biggest share of the Championship revenues goes to former PL clubs who receive parachute payments from Sky/PL. The Championship is heavily weighted in their favour and if you haven't already been in the PL, the pickings in the Championship don't even cover the costs of most clubs. Rahic ballsed up and Rupp who was naive with little knowledge or interest in football fell for it.

Think Rhodes has done well out of the club, £3 million taken out just before admin and another probable £3 million on the sale of the club, plus the fans chipped in with hundreds of thousands of pounds to help him buy it back plus changing room upgrade and new scoreboard paid for by fans, Not even sure he put money in to the club it was Lawn that put money in and lent the club money

So those clubs did well purely because the fans kicked up a stink? Did they actually kick up a stink? Or did the management of those clubs sort it out?

mate come off it, you and I both know whinging and moaning does nothing for the on field progress.

Lots of away managers try and get an early goal if they know the home fans will get on the teams back.

Theres a large difference between constructive criticism and just being toxically negative.

I strongly disagree. I think we have every right to expect Rupp to spend a modest sum from his significant wealth to turn the club around.

Why should he? Because he owes us. He has transformed us from a club on the up, on the cusp of Championship football, to an underachieving mess - the laughing stock of the EFL - looking more likely to go out of the league than back to L1.

It's not the fans' fault that he was taken in by Rahic's delusional grandiose ideas. After sacking Rahic, Rupp apologised to the fans and promised to put right the wrongs that had been done. Well he's currently showing no sign of doing so. OK, he covered the immediate debts that Rahic ran up, but then recouped all that with the McBurnie money. He has sat on his hands and watched us slide further and further away from the position he inherited and basically done nothing. He seemed like an honourable man but is not living up to that impression.

If he's not prepared to put any money in to improve the team then he should sell at a loss and bugger off back to his motorsports. Simply sitting on the club and pocketing the consultancy fee (for doing what?) as we continue to drift into oblivion, is unacceptable. Why should fans continue to fork out their hard earned cash to watch substandard players while our uninterested owner fiddles as Rome burns? Season ticket sales will plummet next season unless there is significant and visible investment in the team.

Given our recent record of serial decline, the only way we'll attract the kinds of players we need to get us out of this mess will be to pay over the top wages. That will need financial input from Rupp. Without it we will continue our slide and Rupp will be forced instead to fork out to offset reduced ticket and ancillary income or watch us slide into non league. Would he even care if that happens? I'm really not sure.
