Tell me then Jon where is this mythical investment going to come from. It isn’t a new dilemma is it as I pointed out we have been waiting a long time for a sustainable benefactor.
We will have new owners at some stage but the club will still need to be run on the same lines. When all is considered Lawn and Rhodes were doing a good job and we would have been better sticking with them

Blackpool, Luton, Burnley are all shiteholes whose only existence in life is to make places like Bradford & Barnsley look nice. Preston has a lot of very very nice suburbs (far better and more affluent than anything around here) but, man, it's town centre is a dump full of charity shops, Greggs and pubs that make the Boy & Barrel look salubrious.

it was Rupp, he was putting significant money into the club which recently has dried up.
What will be really telling is if we buy the stadium or not. makes the club more valuable and gives us some agility in terms of events.

Might not be on anyway mate, if the weather forecast is correct.
It'll save a lot of fans of making the decision of whether to bother going or not!

I’ve never understood that myself, they are comparing it to a time when we’d regularly get crowds of under 3,000 and there was less to do then and tickets even match day ones were dirty cheap compared to modern day.

it’s an excuse for failure, try telling Brentford or Bournemouth they’re a traditional lower league club. 10/11 years ago we were considered bigger than them in club size terms, now we haven’t been in the same league as them for years. Play all the clubs who would struggle to get crowds of over 3,000 if they let people in for free like Fleetwood, Accrington and Burton.

There is no excuse for us to not be higher up the food chain in the 21st century, only failure from those at the club. We are a different club to the one on the 70’s.

Tell me, Park, in 2010 could you have named Stefan Rupp and Edin Rahic as potential buyers for the club?

    No??

In 2003, could you have named Mark Lawn as a potential investor?

    Again, no.

Well there's your answer. The next buyer will appear, it's inevitable. We probably have never heard of them. But they're more likely to appear if we give off the impression this club is looking for a buyer than if we're pretending everything is rosy in the garden.

Blackpool and Bolton very recently attracted investors for just that reason: investment was required.

Surely anyone who knows anything about football must know that Rupp has no interest and consequently the club is ripe for purchase

Both clubs own the ground with profitable hotels attached. Thats the reason they get investors

The high court removed the club from Oyston family for illegal payments and placed it in the hands of the receiver including the club and land, The present owner bought the club from the receiver

    Profitable hotels?

Who the feck ever wants to stay over in Bolton with plenty of nice areas a short drive away?

As for Blackpool, plenty of alternatives. I can't see many staying out of the way up at the stadium and paying a premium for the privilege. Especially given that Blackpool isn't exactly known for the class of its guests.

I imagine it's nice compared to the grotty but and bs in Blackpool but the point is, if you're going to Blackpool, those grotty b and bs are part of the charm and there's no way someone is forking out the prices of the football ground hotel when you can get a bed and a breakfast for £25 a night considering you're only going there to get absolutely hammered.

I imagine if Bolton has a profitable hotel business, it will be business class guests staying over for functions and expos?

I attended one at the Wigan stadium once. I can see how it MIGHT be profitable, especially at certain times of year, but I wouldn't be buying a football club based on the profitability of a hotel that's attached.
