He’s not belittling the club. He is honorary life president at the club according to the article!

he makes a good point tbf. Twitter is a completely toxic platform and very little good comes from it. Facebook isn’t much better. There is some real drivel posted.

As Lawn said, in the past such thoughts would be laughed off in the pub, but nowadays every Tom, Dick n ‘Arry has a voice and a platform to speak on these newer platforms - yet a lot of it is gibberish.

 

Take on here for example, talk of Adams quitting/sacked, the furore behind Crankshaw leaving etc. And youre right about Twitter, can give you a right laugh but be equally toxic at the same time. Crikey he was even mentioned on here as belittling the club when you won't find a bigger Bradford City fan than Lawn. That said I don't agree with all he says in the interview. Not sure why we keep going back to old boys from the club, let's move forward FFS.

 

Nothing wrong with what he says. Shame he wasn't as robust when deciding who to sell to.

One gripe - whoever we have in charge, doesn't seem willing or able to find solutions to these apparently existential issues, such as needing to finding a massively higher rental cost than others. OK - what are you doing about it? I don't tell me there's nothing that can be done.

 

You only have to look at Bradford City's tiny social media sphere to see a minute little example of what is happening on a broader scale ie don't get your news from social media under any circumstances lol

I wouldn't say he was quick to sell didn't he say the club was for sale for years before he actually sold the club and why not from his perspective the man that bought the club definitely had (and still has) the funds required to sustain it I'm not sure what red flags there were at the time perhaps you can enlighten me

 

Lawn did nothing wrong selling to R & R. They offered a price that was accepted. Not his problem how the club is run after although I would expect it pisses him off to see where the club has ended up.

I think lawn does, hes saying people spread lies or “non-truths”. Hes not saying Rupp should sell up. Should anyone who does anything perceived “wrong” not have a voice?

 

Honestly bantam talk isnt that much better, we were talking before on the adams out thread if I remember rightly. People saying he was aiming at rupp are just not true! None will care though.
Problem is in a pub you have 2 of those now you get a 1000 tom dick and harrys all egging each other on..

 

The true position of the Club is reflected in what Rupp has in mind. Since he deems to keep his own council we only get sound bites from Ryan. Stephan's is THE voice and It would be beneficial to hear things from his perspective directly.

 

I wonder why he put his foot down regarding Reid and Wells. Did he want them to leave? want them to go?

It sounded very much like he was having a go at Rupp and the culture of the club. Lawn is saying "I THINK he was talking about the players". If he meant the players Adams, being Adams , would have specifically stated them. Sparks had to rush a statement out shortly after, to try and smooth the waters, but merely muddied them. Now we've got Lawn trying to toe the party line and saying what he "thinks" Adams meant. We haven't heard from Lawn since he sold the club. Why is he being wheeled out now?

Adams lost it during that interview and fans around me on Saturday assumed he was having a go at the club.

Fair cop to Lawn good honest straight talking interview, not sure where this dig at the club is?? In fact he seemed very defensive of Rupp, Sparks and Adams and as a fan like the rest of us realises it’s going to take time under Adams to get us where we want to be, out of this awful league. Unfortunately people might just have to accept it’s a two year job, I’d rather that than sack him this season and start again with no guarantee of success anyway.

He was also spot on when he said ‘Fans say they want people to be honest but they really don’t.’ The amount of times this gets used as a stick to beat someone with is unreal, not talking just at this club but throughout football. One minute people say there’s not enough characters in football, then those that are, are gobshites etc.

 

Adams got exactly what he wanted out of that interview - no-one was talking about the failures of his signings and system and culpability for the run we were on.

 

Where has Lawn belittled the club ? Was never a fan of his but he has never belittled the club.

Also he is wrong about twatter and fakenewsBook.. because of social media.. i have a garden full of turkeys all set for xmas i have bags of fuel because 5 BP garages closed.. i have been to all the sports retailers and bought all the Nike trainers… and now im using as much gas and electric as i can before the prices go up..
