Obviously the money Pep spends helps, but there's other managers (Ole for example) who also throw ridiculous money about and aren't half as successful as Pep. The football he plays is the best I've ever seen and you can obviously tell he's a fantastic coach.

You mention Klopp, during his time at Liverpool he's spent £30m on Mane, £37m on Salah, £35m on Chamberlain, £70m on van Dijk, £53m on Keita, £40m on Fabinho, £56m on Alisson, £41m on Jota and now £36m on Konate and despite a PL & CL doesn't really have a lot to show for it in 6 years.

I'm assuming your argument will be the net spend, but City do also make quite a lot of money on players who are nowhere near the first team (£21m this summer on Nmecha & Ilic, £13m last season on three more nobodies).

It's all about opinion, but for me Pep is a genius manager and the best ever.

The thing is though he not only gets more money to spend than pretty much any team in any of the leagues he has managed in (Spain is perhaps the one league where its not as clear cut as Real were also spending stupid amounts) but he has generally come into clubs that have already had a solid base put in place. Take Ole as an example, since Fergie there has been 3 managers who basically dismantled everything he built and brought in mercenaries and poor players. Ole has had to pretty much rebuild the squad but has still been outspent by Pep each season. And Pep had seasons of adding new players to the squad when he already had a strong squad when he took over.

He hasn't had that journey most managers get where they have to start at smaller clubs and prove themselves so it makes it hard to know how good he really is. It's like Zidane, there were times where he was linked to the United job and everyone was going about what a great manager and he has done great at Real but his own job is at Real which isn't the best guide

    Wow is this for real.

Pep has spend over a 1 billion pound and is going to spend 120-150m on Harry Kane to add to that.

Sorry, give Klopp, Ole 1 billion and they will do the same.

Oh, have you forgot that even with nearly 1 billion spent that he hasn't won the CL as yet for City and lets not forget he was brought in to win the CL.

As for Klopp and the spend. Liverpool's net spend is really low and not when you look at Jack bloody Grealish who hasn't even scored an international goal then signing Jota a 45m for example is a bargain.

Pep is a good manager but his spending as he does is ruining him. He's no genius. Far from it.

Comparing Jota and Grealish is a bit unfair. Grealish is a creator not a goalscorer and Jota is more the reverse. Also would Jota have scored any international goals if he was one the greediest players I've ever seen who can have players in good positions with only an easy pass needed and he takes the shot every time. I'm not even Portuguese so had no reason to get wound up by it but if I had the ability to teleport I would have teleported into an armoury stolen a rocket launcher and then over to each of the Portugal Euro2020 games and fired it right at him after about 15 minutes of each match as that's how infuriating greedy he was in those games

If you think Grealish is worth 100m than you're mad.

Clearly not seen Jota play then?

Ok, Utd paid 75m ish for Sacho I think that's a better deal than 100m for Grealish if I am honest. Don't you?

Where did I say he was worth £100mill? I just said comparing him with Jota the way you did is unfair. Grealish is the better player of the two though. He brings more to a team than Jota with fewer negatives. Jota is a player who will improve most top teams squads but not really their starting 11 but Grealish would improve the starting 11 of pretty much all the top teams

It's worth noting as well considering people like calling him a PE teacher, Ole lost the first league match against Pep but from the next 4 he has 1 draw and 3 wins. In EFL cup both him and Pep won a leg one year and last with just one leg Pep won but all in all that would be an excellent record for say Jose let alone Ole who most people speak down about. Not many managers have as high a win record percentage against Pep

Messi took a 50% pay cut for a longer deal - 5 years!!! It was just structured differently but his incomings were the same - simply spread out longer. They were offering to pay him to play for Miami and then as an ambassador.
