Anyone that is interviewed by the media is open to being misinterpreted because that's what the media do. The fact he put the record straight immediately is commendable.

For a relatively inexperienced guy for me he just talks too much for the sake of it. I guess that some people like to be noticed. polar opposite of Rhodes who never said owt. Only my opinion like, others probably love it.

Exactly, Rhodes said nothing and got constant criticism for it. You can't please all the people all the time, but I expect there are more fans happy that our present CEO is quite vocal than are unhappy about it.

If you say there is less chance of being 'misinterpreted'. I'm not against him putting out statements and the like, but as Fordy said he can come across a bit like a contestant from the apprentice with his soundbites.

It's good we're being kept up to date, but he appears to want to be popular despite his statements to the contrary. In his defence, maybe he was forced to make a statement yesterday due to the leaking taps within the club. If the employees at the club are really buying into his philosophy, maybe he should try and fix the leaks. It's difficult I know, but this could undermine some of the things he's trying achieve. This was an issue when Rhodes and Lawn were at the club, but not so much so under the dictatorship of Rahic.

1st Choice Wellens because I think he has the most to prove
2nd Choice Adams, for is ability to work with a small club
3rd Choice Jackett, been there, done it.

All I believe are strong man managers and "proper football managers", something we haven't had since Parky.

We've made a lot of mistakes in the last ten years with managers and the circle of life needs to come round and make it our time. Every single manager since Parky has been a mistake in some way.

Stuart - too chummy, too eager to be friends with the players, not a man to diffuse a crisis.
Grayson - too arrogant, too detached, too selfish, didn't have the right sidekick to act as the go between.
Collins - no respect, the Chairman's puppet, lacked self respect and authority.
Hopkin - too cold, no man management skills, lacked basic communication & social skills.
Bowyer - a good number two, the PE teacher everyone hates during lessons but loves outside of school.
T&S - too inexperienced, lack the authority to manage L2 pros.

The next appointment is vital and will define us for years to come.

Ryan said we were heading for the National League but gave Stuart a contract extension anyway. He sacked him two weeks later. It doesn't make sense.

I strongly suspect Ryan had no say in that and it was a parting gift from JR. I think we can absolve him of blame in that, either way, it was hinted at/ rumoured that SM & KB had actually taken pay cuts to extend and the cost of a pay out was roughly the same. Not sure that holds much water though.

I was gonna post this. You’re exactly right. He seems to get caught up in the time and doesn’t take a step back and make a calculated decision. It’s happened couple of times now already. McCall new contract, gone only weeks later. Giving the T&s a permanent deal, did we really need to do that then?
Then sacking them when remit was reached? It doesn’t look good and take time to breathe.
again we already have a manager lined up, which is good but on the other hand are we just rushing in again? It needs to be the right decision and do we know what else is out there?

Just wondering if this was always the plan and T&S knew it from the outset or if the manager they wanted in December has suddenly made himself available and they have back tracked. I hope to god it's not going to turn out to be Hurst.

There's something about Sparks' manner and delivery, let alone the words and phrases he uses, which makes me immediately think he's a charlatan. But, in truth, I couldn't care less who the CEO is. I spent 40 years not knowing or caring who owned or ran the club behind the scenes. The only thing I was bothered about was what happened on the pitch, and that's still the case.

    Come on.

You really think a charlatan could pull the wool over Stefan Rupp's eyes?

Well unfortunately you need to get into 2021.

You might have not noticed that this club is a failure both on the pitch and off it!

If a club is successful off the pitch it then helps them to be more successful on the pitch! You not figured that out yet in your 40 years?

I've 'figured out' quite a few things since I've been on the planet actually, which I notice is exactly twice as long as you. And I'll 'get into 2021' when I jolly well please, thank you very much.

Joking aside, Fordy, of course a club run well off the pitch is more likely to be successful on it. I've just got better things to do than fret about what goes on behind the scenes.

Very accurate summing up for me, General. Do you remember watching Hopkins in pre-match interviews, profusely sweating, all nervous coughs, looking like he was really ill all the time? He always seemed to be somewhere else.

The more I think about it, the more I warm to the idea of your 3rd choice Kenny Jackett. That said, would be equally happy with any of your 3 choices
