Look at the size of most of the Cheltenham team. Big, physical side, playing no nonsense football, to tactics they are obviously used to playing week in week out. Look at their position in the table. It doesn’t lie.
We showed improvement today, but these guys showed what is needed to win games.

 

An inability to deal with the long throw as cost us tonight.
21st and looking more and more like our league status is seriously under threat.

How many shots has their keeper had to save? 1? That he let in? Other than that how many chances have we created? 2?

Cheltenham could easily have had 4 or 5 tonight and we couldn't have argued. Yes it's been decent last gasp defending at times but to suggest we were the better team in either have is park bantam esque.

I didn't say we were the better team. I thought we were not second best as you suggested.

 

Obviously no other clubs have injuries

 

Have to give props to Clayton, i would have put money down on him getting injured playing week in, week out but he is doing his part otherwise City have nothing on the bench to bring on to replace his offside runs.

A much improved performance which on the one hand is positive but with nothing gained from it, will that inspire this group of players to keep trying or make them feel, what's the point?

 

It was improved we can’t deny that but it’s not good enough still and you always felt we would struggle to hang on once they scored before half time.

I seriously worry we are gonna go down. We have, including tonight, 8 league games in December. That’s before any reinforcements come into the club. We are woeful away from home and at home we have only 3 of the next 7 games. 2 of those are against sides in the top 7.

I cannot see where the points are gonna come from. After 20 games we could have about 15 points

 

There is no other level we are strangled by injuries and players not fully fit we were dominating them tonight until players like Hosannah had to go of.we had a huge squad last season but when they started going down like ten pins we struggled there is not a team in football who wouldn’t struggle under these circumstances

 

Unless we can physically match these teams we will find it increasingly difficult to pick up points. But a welcome increase in effort tonight.

 

1st half performance was better then we've seen recently.

2nd half i never felt like we were really in it. We could have got a draw, we could have been beaten 4-1. Can't really complain with the result.

Overall though, 1 more place closer to the drop zone and the alarm bells are ringing louder.
